What If Roy Moore Wins?
Townhall.com ^ | Nov 23, 2017 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 11/22/2017 10:27:11 PM PST by Oshkalaboomboom

When Donald Trump appointed Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to serve as Attorney General, it was widely assumed that his permanent replacement would be a Republican. But the scandals and allegations surrounding Republican nominee Roy Moore have challenged that assumption.

It would be a stunning turn of events for a Democrat to win in a state Donald Trump won by 28 percentage points. If that happens, as I noted last week, Democrats might win control of the Senate in 2018.

But what would it mean if Roy Moore wins?

A few things are pretty obvious. First, it would indicate that the Democrats have no realistic chance of winning anywhere in the South. The toxicity of the Democratic brand in rural states might also indicate problems for Democratic Senators running for re-election in West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota and Montana.

Second, a Moore victory would be further proof of how little credibility the national media has outside of the political class. Many who are troubled and offended by Moore are also troubled and offended by the apparently partisan behavior of the Post. Why didn't the left-leaning paper report Moore's problems before the Republican primary? If they had done so, Moore wouldn't be the GOP nominee and the Democrats wouldn't have a chance.

Third, it would also show the complete rejection of the Republican establishment in Washington. Mitch McConnell and his team did everything possible to block Moore. If the tarnished candidate wins, it will be because running against both national Republicans and the national media is a potent strategy. But the deeper implications of a Moore victory, however, would be to again show that voters grade politicians on an ethical curve. No matter what the offense, voters assume that others in office have done the same or worse.

This goes to the core of the dispute between voters and the political elite. The elite view themselves as noble public servants whose wise leadership is needed to move the country forward. They believe politicians should be role models for society to follow. Most voters find such a job description laughable. Instead, politicians are generally viewed as mercenaries or brokers sent to do a particular job.

This was clear in 2016 when Donald Trump won 87 percent of the evangelical vote. It's not that evangelical voters approved of President Trump's lifestyle or thought he was one of them.

Instead, they recognized that one of the most important tasks of a president was to appoint people to the Supreme Court. Many evangelicals believe that Hillary Clinton would appoint Justices hostile to religious liberty and Trump had promised to do the opposite. In other words, they voted for Trump so they could get someone like Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court.

If Roy Moore wins, it will be with the votes of many people who find him reprehensible. They will not be voicing approval of his behavior but sending him to do a job in the political swamp. Some will hold their nose and conclude that voting for Moore is a necessary evil. They will vote for him to help repeal Obamacare, reform taxes, cut spending and deal with immigration.

For many Alabama voters, electing Moore may be seen as a lesser evil than giving Democrats control of the U.S. Senate.

Saying that voters grade politicians on an ethical curve assumes that voters believe the 40-year old accusations and vote for Moore anyway. Rasmussen should have quit while he was ahead saying that voters feel the media has little credibility.

OMG...What an ass whole.

Democrats might win control of the Senate in 2018. ROTFLMAO

See, this is why it is so hard talking to people sometimes: They are haters. That is; They hate math, the same way they hate gravity but, both are incontrovertible.

Hey now. Math is your friend.

Deliver an even bigger majority in 2018 to set up redistricting in 2020.

Here are some real math numbers.

1st. 2018 is not going to end well for them. They have 25 seats up, with 11 vulnerable. Compare that to the Republicans who have only seats up with merely 2 vulnerable.

Let’s just say losing 30% cor the Dems would be a friggin disaster but, not as bad as 2020....more later.

2nd. SCOTUS...3 more turns at bat over the next 8 years.

3rd. Federal Judges. Over the next 7.5 years we will realign more than 1/2 or more than 700 Federal Judges and may even break up pesky courts like the 9th.

Hell, we could replace a few annoying judges in Hawaii.

4th. The Wall.

5th. Obamacare will be repealed.

6th. Lower Capital gains tax and offer enticing tax advantages to repatriate some of the $3 Trillion offshore and put that capital to work investing in factories and new business ideas.

This will invigorate the economy.

7th. 2020. Dems have 11 Senate seats up, compared to 22 for Republicans.

We probably have a net gain of 3 for the Senate.

All 435 seats in Congress are up but, if we can get the issues of healthcare coverage, The economy and the wall in progress as well at least SCOTUS we will probably have an increase in the house as well(I am still studying that batlefield and don’t have numbers yet)

So why all the fighting from the Dems and these charges which are no more than vapor?

Well, their product sucks. Its a stew of hate, Socialism/Marxist utopian ideals and more segregation of society by invented classes of aggrieved people.

But, the real kicker is this about Reapportionment. Can you say Entropy?

8. Yeah that’s right. With more wins under the belt of the Republicans we will have a larger swath of land to carve up because the census will take place, which the predicate for redistricting and guess who wins that fight no matter what?

Republicans and we get an increase in key states we will continue to win. Alabama, Georgia and Florida will gain 1 more representative in the house, who will likely be a Republican

However, Texas will gain 3 or 4 representatives locking up the south for Republicans over the next decade.

So, in 2020 we will gain further majorities in the house and senate, redistrict in our favor, we will be in the middle of an economy that out performs all other nations, 2 SCOTUS or more will be seated in our favor, 300-400 Federal judges are seated Obamacare/Check, Tax Policy/Check, The Wall/Check, Fair Trade/Check, ISIS Dead/Check, Russia petitions for statehood (jus kee dean), Trump Re-elected / Yuge Check.

And the dems wander the wilderness for 10 years because they stand zero chance of doing anything significant after 2020.

And the DNC is not only running an insane $3.5 million dollars in debt but, their fundraising is at the lowest in 14 years.

And they have no candidate for 2020 as yet but, their current financial or intellectual leadership.

Oh, and that Trump meme “ He’s going to step down!” Uhmmm...Boo Chit.

Or “The 25th Amendment!” Please take your meds....

He’s already fundraising for his 2020 PAC with $12,000,000 cash on hand.

That’s right. After disbursements he’s got $12 million.

That’s debt free money.

Oh, and the RNC is cash flow positive with $44,000,000 in the bank.

I ask you, at this point, who is going to win?

Conclusion:
Democrats are so broke they can’t pay attention and have zero money to support any war but.

Cheap azz Chinese knockoff of an intellect.

So, get use to Donald Trump being president for 8 years.

And don’t forget to tip your waiter...erh representative and Trump.....

Just as importantly, you need to actively work for your side.

Write letters and call those jackasses in Congress telling them “You got what you want, when do we get what we want?”

Most are no more than thieves at best. A few may be honest when they enter, but they don't stay that way.

The toxicity of the Democratic brand in rural states might also indicate problems for Democratic Senators running for re-election in West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota and Montana.

The Republicans should be thinking of how to win ten states this coming November. Instead they are willing to lose seats in order to protect their swamp.

What If Roy Moore Wins?

We celebrate!

Roy wouldn't have been my first choice if I were voting in Alabama. But he's the choice of Alabama Republicans, and I support them 100%! May he win, and let's rub Mitch McTurtle's nose in it!

Saying that voters grade politicians on an ethical curve assumes that voters believe the 40-year old accusations and vote for Moore anyway.

Voters can spot a frame-up!

Rasmussen sounds like a fool. He talks about “scandals” for which there is absolutely not proof and of “allegations” which are still only that, and if the yearbook “document” is shown to be a fake (and there is some evidence that it was tampered with), then there will be NO scandal or factual allegations to even think about.

This is why no one trusts polls and pollsters except Democrats who like “pole dancers”. That is the only kind of “pole” they believe in, i.e. Fanny Fox, the Argentine Firecracker - anyone?

Well, I have to amend that statement. Others who like/d “poles” include Elliot Spitzer, Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton the Premature, Charlie Rose, Al Franken (the Handy-Man), John The Commie Conyers, and, of course, the biggest pole-driver of all, Ted Kennedy.

Scott Rasmussen is an essentially honest pollster, and he’s a good man. While his analysis is simplified for the article, I would take everything he says seriously. I don’t guarantee that he is right, but I will vouch for his character and his polling talents. What he is saying is (1) what he actually believes, and (2) based on a valid reading of today’s polling. Note: Today’s polling is less reliable than ever because so few conservatives trust pollsters enough to talk with us.

1. If Moore loses, that will be bad a bad sign for us in the House or (far less likely) the Senate.

2. If Moore wins, that will be a bad sign for democrats, the media, and the Establishment (and thus a good sign for America).

Oh, and the RNC is cash flow positive with $44,000,000 in the bank.

I'm not sure that the DNC needs much money anymore. The Democrat game in most states is vote mining in the big blue cities. They've written off most of the country geographically and concentrate on a handful of urban counties in each state. In these areas, unions handle most of the on the ground stuff. And as for advertising, the MSM is so far around the bend that Democrat paid media is almost superfluous. Every news show, every talk show, every late night comic, and most of the sitcoms are Democrat advertising.

Poster #2 I could not agree with you any more. Talk of Democrats gaining anything anywhere based on national issues is ridiculous. They have won some state level seats in upsets but all of those “wins” can be traced to local issues.
When the tax bill goes through and the trap is finally slammed shut on the Clintons ( please don’t believe for a second Mueller is investigating Trump for 8 months) the whole rat party collapses.
