Lincoln businessman Todd Watson announced Tuesday he will mount a "conservative Constitutionalist" challenge to Sen. Deb Fischer in the 2018 Republican Senate primary election.
"Our current U.S. Senate needs a makeover," Watson said in a news release before making his official announcement on Facebook.
"Congressional winning from a camp that is corrupted, compromised and lacks conviction on the inside will not happen," he said.
Watson was critical of Fischer's role as a member of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's leadership team, arguing that "health care, securing the border, spending cuts, defunding Planned Parenthood and reforming immigration were always impossible" because of allegiance to McConnell and large campaign donors.
"Deb Fischer's three failing conservative grades by leading conservative publications like New American, Heritage in Action and Conservative Review have left Republicans bewildered and uninspired," Watson said.

I agree with this challenger. Nebraska is a VERY conservative state. They can do much better than wishy-washy Fisher.
If she were representing a democrat state like California or New York then I would be OK with her RINO ways. She needs to be primaried along with the RINO Senators in Tennessee, North and South Dakota.
Fischer has been far more supportive of Trump than Sasse. He’s the bum Potemkin conservative that needs to be primaried from Nebraska.

Same here. And if a non-swamp creature primaried Ben Sasse I would vote for him/her too, even though my niece works in Sasse’s office.
I hold all these critters as accomplices to murder because of what they are willing to cover up. If they aren’t ready to drain the swamp, then they ARE the swamp and must be drained.
Nebraska’s critters are ALL a disappointment to me.

Sasse is the one that needs to go.
