You forgot that this rule only applies when Republicans are accused. When a Democrat is accused, any and all defenses are available and must be accepted without any questioning. The number one rule of Washington media is that Democrats are innocent until proven guilty beyond any level of doubt and Republicans are guilty when accused and cannot be proven innocent.

Judge Moore’s conduct (unproven) is while he is simply a candidate. He was chosen by the GOP voters in Alabama; the people who know him best. Let them decide, national GOP. Again, the Ethics committee has no dog in this fight.
