Pizza Hut Slaps Down Papa John's Claim that NFL National Anthem Protests Hurt Sales
Fortune Magazine ^ | 10/31/2017 | Chris Morris

A day after Papa John’s CEO claimed that player protests in the NFL were responsible for lower sales at the chain, the man in charge of Pizza Hut says that’s ridiculous.

“We’re not seeing impact on any of that on our business,” Greg Creed, CEO of Yum Brands—parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and other chains—said in a call with investors on Thursday. Yum Brands posted third-quarter earnings and revenue that beat analyst forecasts, due in part to Pizza Hut’s improved performance.

“We’re not seeing impact on any of that on our business,” Greg Creed, CEO of Yum Brands. “We weren’t seeing a lot of business before this, and we’re still pretty much the same after.”

...is what he meant to say.

Papa John’s box isn’t bad either. A little chewy.

Awesome to know! Now, in the event that I could get a delivery driver out here (Bum F Egypt) I know I'll have leftovers.

Lord, I learn so much here at FR!

The hut isn’t a go to home delivery priced pizza.

I wasn’t buying garbage pizza anyway.

I wouldn’t buy Pizza Hut Pizza if they priced it at $2 for a large. Let alone at the totally ridiculous price that they sell it now.

Pizza Slut should have kept its cardboard cheese mouth shut. Suspect they will have a decline now. SO be it.

I’d take Pizza Hut over Papa Greasy’s any day...but that’s just a personal preference.

I ordered Papa Johns today for dinner after hearing they pulled their ads. Have to say however that 38.00 for 2 pizzas delivered is a bit steep. Good pizza though.

Exactly. Moron fake news journalist thinks we are just going to accept what he writes because it is under the moniker of Fortune Magazine.

Chris Morris, go sell crazy to some middle school kids. Maybe they’ll buy.

I remember the Pizza Hut of the ‘90s. A large sit down restaurant, families, a salad bar, fresh made pizzas and cheap pitchers of beer.

When I went again around 2010 it was a small sit down restaurant, no families and no salad bar. The pizza was covered in aluminum foil. It was reheated and in a rectangular pan which was dropped off at the table with all the grace of a prison meal. The pizza was pre-made and obviously simply reheated in an oven. It tasted like crap. The whole place said “minimal effort”. It struck me as one-step away from a vending machine restaurant.

But my 5 and 8 y.o.s loved the pizza so... okay then.

So maybe investors should be asking Pizza Hut why their sales are not UP?

Because Pizza Hut is to pizza what CNN is to journalism? (Fake)

Pizza Hut is a foul, cat food inspired, soylent green type of crap that I wouldn't even feed to a hungry dog.

Joe six pack isn’t calling out for the hut during the game. He wants cheap, delivered, and fast. That’s not PH.

Pizza Hut is better known, so not as dependent on a specific type of advertising for business.

Autozone was Auto Shack and it was Radio Shack that made them change the name.
