Scott Pruitt Plans to Dismiss EPA's Expert Scientific Advisors

(WASHINGTON) — The head of the Environmental Protection Agency said Tuesday he intends to replace the outside experts that advise him on science and public health issues with new board members holding more diverse views.

In announcing the changes, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt suggested many previously appointed to the panels were potentially biased because they had received federal research grants. The 22 boards advise EPA on a wide range of issues, including drinking water standards and pesticide safety.

“Whatever science comes out of EPA shouldn’t be political science,” said Pruitt, a Republican lawyer who previously served as the attorney general of Oklahoma. “From this day forward, EPA advisory committee members will be financially independent from the agency.”

He needs to start with the EXPERTS who “fixed” that mine in Colorado that poured million of gallons of polluted tailings water into the Animas river. If the mine owners had done this, they would be in jail today.

Perhaps he should employ ‘experts’ who can tell me why I constantly find ‘drunk’ bees crawling on the ground. Is it connected with the death of bees and empty hives? Is it caused by harmless pesticides that don’t kill insects. /sarc

This is excellent news. We all know the game. The DC swamp funds the eco-left with federal research dollars. The “research” just happens to confirm the political conclusion the DC swamp has signaled they want. And there you have it, Settled Science!

A sick, corrupted game that has gone on for far too long. Everyone knows it, but the GOPe never wanted to stop it because they feared upsetting the apple cart.

My understanding is that Pruitt is making sure those scientist on government advisory boards or committees are truly independent and not beholden to any political influence no matter the slant of that influence.
