Some California parents are up in arms after they say a life-size scarecrow depicting President Donald Trump was placed at an elementary school.
A Facebook post on the Santa Clarita Community Watchdog page shared an image of the scarecrow, which reportedly was placed at Santa Clarita Elementary School in Saugus.
“No matter what your political affiliation is, this was 100% inappropriate for elementary students to see at Santa Clarita Elementary today!!” the Facebook post read.
Another person wrote, “Ouch. Wrong wrong. Kids don’t need to be subject to this. No matter what these people think of our President, he IS our President and deserves respect for the position. It’s not the educators position to encourage our children to disrespect anyone.”
But not everyone found the scarecrow to be offensive.
“I’m fine with it. Left-leaning indoctrination has been occurring in every grade level, since, forever. Kids will graduate and quickly see that the real world doesn’t play by elementary school rules … ” wrote one.
“I could honestly care less there are more important things to focus on,” wrote another.
CBS2’s Greg Mills said the scarecrow has everyone talking and he talked to several parents who were decidedly on both sides of the debate.
“We need to have respect for our president and to allow young children to depict the president in that manner is disrespectful,” said one woman who chose to remain anonymous.
Mills reported that the school conducts a scarecrow contest every year — class against class. And many found a scarecrow of the president, classless.
One parent questioned why Trump looked scary while the other scarecrows in the contest appeared to be happy.
While some called for the teacher’s firing many also stood up for her calling her an exceptional teacher.
One father said it was the kids’ idea and the Trump image was one the student owned.
Mills reached Lee Morrell with the school district for a comment but told him the district hasn’t had a chance to look into it — they were unaware of the firestorm until this morning.
Sara Barsh, the president of the school’s Parent-Teacher Club wrote, “I apologize if this is offensive. I do not believe it is the student’s intention to be political.”
I really think there is little hope for this country.
At least the Country most of us remember...
It’s Trump, so, harmless shenanigans. If it were some Democrat...outrage!!!
To me while it is disrespectful that is not the issue.
The issue is deliberate politicization of education and the worst of it is the younger, more immature, less learned, less experienced are the children subjected to it.
It is nothing less than “educators” attempting to deny children and parents the life-education relationships that belong to them, not so-called “educators”.
Proving our public education system is more about political indoctrination than education.
This valley is mostly Conservative, with a Republican mayor. The teacher should be, at the very least, reprimanded. Kids shouldn’t be indoctrinated in schools.....they should be learning the three R’s without ANY politics involved. Period.

Bottom line: insincerely clueless! How could it be anything else but political?
What are the odds an elementary school child would know anything about DJT other than in his capacity as POTUS? Even if the child acquired an anti-DJT attitude from a non-school authority, it was fully a school-sponsored event.
What id he was hanging from a tree limb? Talk about heads exploding!
And if this had been about bammy? non-stop hysteria for 2 weeks.

There is a serious problems with crows in Santa Clarita. Happy scarecrows don’t cut it.

At least it wasn’t RACIST, which would have been the call, had it been a caricature of 0bama.
Government "educators" rely on an innocent and captive audience in order to work their deeds. 'Predators' is the word that comes to mind, although another word is more precise, because of how much they 'love' children's minds.
They think they will get away with psychologically abusing children because they don't leave direct physical evidence. But then there's all the fruit that reveals to us plainly, what they have been doing to children behind closed doors.
[Falsely] confident of no consequenses, they don't even bother to hide it anymore.
Meanwhile people will shrug and say, "It's just a scarecrow".
A banana peel or a shoe string would be enough to create chaos.
