McConnell Dismisses Bannon: One of the ‘Specialists in Nominating People Who Lose’
Mediaite ^ | 10/22/17 | Josh Feldman

Once again, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made it clear he doesn’t really think much of Steve Bannon.

Bannon has been talking for a while now about waging war on the GOP establishment and primarying Republican senators who are impeding the Trump agenda.

Dana Perino, filling in for Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, asked McConnell if the “antidote” to Bannon’s agitation would be to get serious issues like tax reform done.

McConnell just dismissed Bannon out of hand again:

“Let me just say with regard to the element that you’re referring to here, they’ve been out there for a number of years. They cost us five Senate seats in 2010 and 2012. We would have gotten the majority of senators but for the fact that they were able to nominate people who could not win in November…. This is not about personalities. This is about achievement. And in order to make policy, you have to actually win the election. The kind of people that are supported by the element that you’d just been referring are specialists in defeating Republican candidates in November. And that’s what these inner-party skirmish is about.”

Perino brought up Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey as examples of more conservative senators who could “emerge from primaries that you maybe wouldn’t anticipate.”

McConnell said he supported both of them and reiterated, “Some of these folks that you’ve been quoting, as I said, are specialists in nominating people who lose.”

Perino broached the issue of McConnell’s “personal unpopularity with the Republicans out in the country,” but McConnell downplayed it and said, “I’m not going to be on the ballot on any of the states, and I don’t think the candidates who are running need to take a position on me.”

This smug spudhead needs a bunch of his cronies taken out in primaries in 2018.

Wicker, Hatch, Heller and Flake.

I like Dana on The Five, but not as the host of her own show. Maybe she’s too light weight...

So, uh, Senator McYertle. Please explain what you mean by the words “Republicans” and “us.” Are we just playing a sports game with red and blue jerseys? Is anything relating back to the whole Constitution and the We, the People stuff at all? Because when you say “win,” I don’t think it means for us what it means for you.

No, it’s about not electing any more fake conservatives like Rubio and Toomey who stab us in the back with amnesty and gun control.

McConnell is saying we need to continue to elect liberal “Republicans” like John McStain, Lisa MurCOWski and Lindsey GAYham.

Note these “Republicans” are in red Republican states. These are the type of Republicans that McConnell wants.

McConnell’s endorsement right now would subtract maybe ten or more percentage points from any candidate

Ditch is ~75. His strategery is old skool and way past its prime.

He needs to spend more time in Kentucky.

I don’t watch it at all. Trish Regan on Fox Business at 2 PM is much better.

McConnell is one of the ‘Specialists in Nominating People Who Become GOPe’

McConnell directing so much senate PAC money is killing the republican party. He’s putting in more do nothing swamp creatures.

Hey Yertle,

You sure did a good job protecting Ted Stevens, right?

And what about Lisa Murkowski losing the primary and running as an independent?

Howzabout your sterling work challenging AL FRANKEN in Minnesota what with the stories about hundreds of ballots found in a campaign worker's car?

And let's not forget the GOP-e's attacking Christine O'Donnell (I'm looking at you, Karl Rove) when she won her primary.

Not to mention how Akin in Missouri had to fight a three-way primary against Steelman and Brunner...

Or that little shenanigan with Thad Cochrane in Mississippi.

BTW, what happened to old "wide stance" Larry Craig from Idaho?

One of your fellow swamp creatures, no doubt?

mcconnell doesn’t think much of any of us. He talks like an elite snob...and he is one... who has been in Washington too long and thinks he’s owed it to stay... nevermind the original plan was to serve the PEOPLE for a term and then go home. Nothing is owed this old liberal posing as a republican, but a ticket home. He’s long ago lost his way...

I can’t say strong enough how much I detest those life long congresspersons who are only serving themselves... and no easy way to get rid of them! They are an expensive bad habit and not worth any amount of $$$

Because when your candidate loses the primary, you shut the winner out and cede the seat to the Democrats.

Right McConnartist. You back candidates that have no vision, no principles, no passion for the Constitution, you get them elected and then what happens? Nothing, of course.

We remember how you had you and your stable of GOP RINOs throw PAC money to Thad Cochran to buy ads decrying McDaniel as a racist, and the ‘walkin around money’ to get black democrats to crossover and vote against McDaniel by voting for Cochran.

Now we see your ‘achievement’ and we see your ‘policy’.
