Bannon blasts George W. Bush’s presidency at California GOP meeting

Former White House adviser Steve Bannon says there has not been a more destructive presidency than George W. Bush’s.

Bannon delivered a scathing criticism of the former president after Bush this week denounced bigotry in Trump-era American politics, warning that the rise of “nativism,” isolationism and conspiracy theories have clouded the nation’s true identity.

Bannon told a capacity crowd at a California Republican convention in Anaheim that Bush “embarrassed himself.”

In his remarks in New York, Bush warned of a nation in which discourse has been degraded by “casual cruelty,” where bigotry is emboldened.

Bannon says Bush has no idea whether “he is coming or going, just like it was when he was president.”

Really? I didn’t know that either. There was a time when I wouldn’t have believed that or a lot of other things said about him. Now I would.

The biggest problem the Bushes have with Trump is that he let the world know their idiot brother was an idiot.

“I remember cringing every time the buffoon was in front of a microphone. Stumble bum”

I feel that cringe when Sessions speaks. He make Goober Pyle sound like a Shakespearian orator.

"Ronald Reagan’s biggest mistake the first George Bush..."

Without a doubt. Bush did everything he could do to undo Reagan's successful legacy. I will never forget his comment about "trickle down" economics don't work. And the idiot swore, "Read my lips - no new taxes!" and did so. Plus, he claimed it's a "New World Order". If that wasn't code for globalism, what else would it mean?

The Bushes were just another dynasty that we are sick of like the Clintons. Bush I was a disaster. W was good on some issues, but have learned since that the Iraq invasion (which I supported) was a waste of lives and resources. It started the "Arab Spring" that caused a void for ISIS and others to fill.

Obama/Hillary continued on that idiotic search for democracy in the ME that those people don't appreciate. Killing Gaddafi resulted in another void and Benghazi was the result. Thank god, Egypt saw through Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood and the military deposed Obama's puppet and restored Egypt to a free prosperous state who is again willing to work with Israel.

The Iraq disaster and the loss of 4,000 American lives in that futile and destructive war can be laid right at Dubya's door. Also the lives of thousands of Iraqi Christians, slaughtered by ISIS which filled the vacuum created by the removal of Sadaam. A colossal mistake.

The good news is that it's now OK to say this on FR. A decade ago, it would have got me banned.

His drunken behavior at the memorial for the five slain Dallas policemen was disgraceful. He shouldn’t be lecturing anyone on anything.

Alcohol has a way of letting the "real" you out sometimes.

My Reagan story. Was working at the country club that used to do the Bakersfield Business Conference before it got so big they had to move it to the university grounds. Must’ve been ‘87 ‘88.....somewhere in there. He was the keynote speaker that year.
Everyone was outside I was almost the only person in the clubhouse so went to the ladies bridge room to pick up empty glasses. A storm had come up and the wind was blowing and it was raining. There was a single French door in the back ladies room that led to a small road that ran beside the clubhouse. I was in that room picking up glasses when I saw a limo pull up to that door so I stopped to watch and see who it was. I didn’t see where they came from but some men came rushing through the French door and I found myself nudged up against the wall by one of their arms. When I looked up a man was getting out of the limo with a trench coat pulled up over his head because of the rain. He came through the door, pulled his trench coat down around his shoulders, did a big shake, and looked around. He saw me being held against the wall and came by me as he passed, smiled real big and kind of laughing said.....nice day. Then they were all gone. Took me a minute to realize it was Ronald Reagan. Lol

He failed to get his Saudi buddy’s pipeline built but he did put billions in the DNC slush fund via TARP. What a guy.

Back in the day, someone would have posted a link to a video so all of us could watch the speech instead of posting “Great Speech, watched it on face book and I loved it”.

0’s probably telling the Mooch, “He’s high, again!” She looks like she then agrees...says ”oh, yeah”.
