Freedom of speech protects one from government regulating the opinion they express. There is no natural right to conspire to commit violence. Expressing an opinion that violence should be committed against a particular individual is peotected only if it is not part of actually conspiring with others to do so. But that is not always a clear distiction to make. The words of these a-holes are probably not part of an actual plan to act...but they certainly ought to be scrutinized to see if there is more than just these words.
Besides, it’s a science and technology school. No room for snivelers and social justice warrior types. They go to Iowa U.
