Sarah Sanders says White House has no recording of Trump's call with widow
CBS News ^ | October 18, 2017 | Kathryn Watson

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the White House does not have a recording of President Trump's call with the widow of fallen U.S. soldier Sgt. La David Johnson, after Mr. Trump claimed he had "proof" of the conversation.

The call has become a point of intense controversy, after Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Florida, said Mr. Trump told Johnson's widow, Myeshia Johnson, her husband "knew what he signed up for." During Wednesday's press briefing, Sanders did not dispute the details of Wilson's account, although she said she would not divulge the details of the president's private conversation.

Mr. Trump tweeted early Wednesday that he had "proof" to disprove Wilson's claim, but Sanders on Wednesday said the White House doesn't have a recording of the call. Sanders said others, including White House chief of staff John Kelly, were on the call.

Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 18, 2017

Mr. Trump, his press secretary said, was "sympathetic" and "respectful," and that the real problem is that his comments were "taken very far out of context by the media."

Ah, she took a payoff to lie about Trump over her husband’s dead body. Class.

My supposition is that Trump made some statement recognizing his willingness to accept risk, this being, of course, the ultimately patriotic stance, let us say.

From there, who knows, but I have to believe that Trump meant to recognize the heroism of his sacrifice. And this is being twisted for political purposes into “insensitivity” or who knows what.

It’s chilling.

My blood boils over this. President Trump clearly loves and appreciates our military.

The Left hates our military, especially this sequin fake cowboy hat racist. She wanted him impeached from the day he was sworn into office. Now she LOVES our armed forces and is so offended by the crap SHE made up!

There is not a lower place in hell for these kind of “people” for lack of a better word.

Grrrr...Lying liars for political made up points that the MSM gobbles up. I hope someone lies about you sometime ‘lady’, because you deserve it big time.

The Left has sunk so far now in their ridiculous effort to separate Trump from his supporters that they want to portray him as insensitive to the military they despise and he demonstratably cherishes. I was trying to decide whether this is utterly childish or just plain evil. I go with both.

Their talking-head alphabet organ grinders are desperately looking for something, anything, to throw against the wall.
This is nothing. Bupkis. A non-issue. It’s pure `rat BS vomited-up by a crazy black congress critter... and her pals in the MSM ran with it.
Obama did dozens of really bad things every week for eight years and we and a few other sites were the only ones talking about them.

The conversation occurred when mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, Rep. Frederica Wilson (D- Fla.), and Sgt. La David Johnson’s widow, Myeshia and her two young children, were waiting in a limosine at Miami International Airport to meet her son’s body. They had the cell phone’s speaker on for all to hear President Trump speak. Myeshia was crying the whole time President Trump spoke. I think all the crying caused enough confusion in the car to allow Rep. Frederica Wilson to get the key elements of the conversation distorted and out of context for her own political bias.

According to White House press spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, there were multiple people in the room with Trump when he made it who “believe that the president was completely respectful, very sympathetic and expressed the condolences of himself and the rest of the country.”

It is interesting that the Gold Star parents Khizr and Gazala Khan are jumping into the issue. Khizr slammed President Trump Tuesday, criticizing his “lack of empathy” and “selfish and divisive actions” after four members of the U.S. military were killed in Niger this month. Khizr condemned Trump for not paying enough attention to this tragedy and his disrespectful treatment of the Johnson widow. What we are seeing here is a repeat of the successful template initiated by the Khan incident.

The Left is trying to sabotage President Trump’s bond with the military.

Obama’s first act in office was to radically change the military rules of engagement to make them so restrictive it was almost impossible for our troops to defend themselves in the field

As a result, the casualty rate and KIA numbers doubled over the highest numbers during the worst fighting under Bush despite the fact that hostilities were largely over by the time Obama took office

Obama’s rules of engagement caused thousands of deaths and even more wounded

The press covered fro Obama

Wilson went on to say Trump “was almost like joking. He said, ‘Well, I guess you knew’ — something to the effect that ‘he knew what he was getting into when he signed up, but I guess it hurts anyway.’ You know, just matter-of-factly, that this is what happens, anyone who is signing up for military duty is signing up to die. That’s the way we interpreted it. It was horrible. It was insensitive. It was absolutely crazy, unnecessary. I was livid.”

Well, welcome to an epiphany, Wilson. Yes, anyone who is signing up for special forces "duty" is signing up to die if necessary. The military is not the peace corps, it is not a daycare center, it is not a last resort because McDonalds isn't hiring. It's the ranks of those who can proudly call themselves soldiers - those who run towards the battle - whether their loved ones understand or not. The bravest of the brave who comprise special forces know exactly what they are getting into. But it doesn't stop the hurt when they don't come home. Being told the country is grateful for their service doesn't stop the hurt, either. But at least it was the President of the United States offering condolences. And that is something special. For those who honor the dead rather than monetize the bones.

I’m pretty sure that the kids of fallen soldiers get free scholarships in Florida, and the widow gets a lump sum life insurance payment?

“Because he died while fighting in Iraq, the Florida Prepaid College Foundation has given Shanaberger’s children Jesse, 12, Wentz Jr., 12, Audrey, 4, Jack, 3, and Grace, 3, a free college education at any Florida state college when they turn 18.
“At a ceremony at U.S. Southern Command Headquarters in Doral, Gov. Jeb Bush on Friday presented them and 19 other children of Florida soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, with four-year prepaid scholarships.”

He made the call from his office with his admin officials right there with him.

Among whom was General John Kelly, himself a gold-star father.

I smell a setup with Rep. Cowgirl. She changed her story of what was allegedly said and I’m willing that she or the widow left out a lot of what Pres. Trump said and the context in which he said it.

If the President did say something about “he knew what he was in for” the whole sentence would have been:

“Your brave husband knew what he was in for as a Special Forces soldier yet he signed up for it”.

Rep. Wilson puts the “N” in the word that should not be spoken but is a known characteristic reality for some black racists and charletins who prey upon the ignorant and uninformed of their own group. That is what they are called behind their backs by those who know better. The “Street” knows who and what they really are, and says so in no uncertain terms. Been there; heard that.

She Cynthia McKinney’s evil twin, an ambulance chaser who will throw the drive out of the vehicle in order to get publicity and damned if the victim makes it or not.

The congresswoman said that the widow told her what Trump said.
Later she said she heard the conversation on a speakerphone.

The liar cant get her story straight.

Obama in 2009, speaking to police graduates in Columbus, Ohio:

The job you signed up for is not easy. It can mean long shifts and late nights. It demands focus, and determination, and great bravery in the face of unknown dangers. When you run into that building or chase down that suspect, you will be risking your own life in order to protect the lives of men and women you have never met, and some that you may never know. But you knew all that when you joined the academy. You knew the risks involved, you knew the sacrifices required, and yet you stood up and said, ‘I’ll take that risk. I’ll make that sacrifice. I will do that job.’

Obama sure had a way with words, didn’t he, even if he didn’t mean them.

The Prof. Gates incident showed that.

“The call has become a point of intense controversy...”

Who decides whether something is a controversy?

Answer:

1) The Fake News (which serves as the propaganda bureau of the DNC), when they see another opportunity to tarnish Trump by twisting facts, altering context and outright lying.

2) The rest of the media, including FR (obsessed with ratings and readership stats) when they take the false narrative and run with it - keeping it in the news cycle by endlessly reposting and regurgitating anti Trump bile for their audiences.
3) The anti Trump morons who have bought into the myth that Trump is the Ultimate Evil and will believe anything bad said about him.
4) The ambivalent or pro Trump audiences who can’t quite seem to grasp that Fake News exists and that they are being lied to.
5) The amoral audiences who - like the Romans at the Colloseum - enjoy the blood sport of character assasination politics even though it is tearing the nation apart.

This fake news story has been posted about ten times on FR alone! Of course it’s going to become a “controversy” if even FReepers who should know better keep repeating it, discussing it, keeping it alive.

The Fake News must feel so proud when they see their invention go viral - even in conservative news outlets and forums.

“Knew what he signed up for”.....yet he went anyway. That attests his bravery, his patriotism, his commitment. What’s wrong with that?
