A school in Mississippi is dropping its connection to the American Confederacy's only president, Jefferson Davis, and renaming itself after President Barack Obama.
Davis International Baccalaureate Elementary School in Jackson will be renamed Barack Obama Magnet IB following a vote.
The move, which when approved will come into force in the next academic year, was proposed by parents and approved by a majority of students, parents, faculty and staff members.
Ninety-eight percent of the students who attend the school are African-American.

Three exits to avoid in Jackson MS if travelling through on I55 or I20 are MLK BLVD, Medgar Evars Blvd, and I would guess now, BHO Blvd

Stopped off of I55 once on Medgar Evars Blvd for gas at about three in the am. There was a holdup in progress. Got back in the car and ran on fumes to Vicksburg on I20
Why not just name it for Union Officer Jefferson Davis, who was with Sherman in his march to the sea.
This Davis pulled up the pontoon bridge leaving the free slaves to drown trying to cross Ebenezer Creek, or else be captured by the Confederate cavalry.

They want to name a school after a person who saw black unemployment go up, black home ownership go down, black losing jobs under him, and blacks losing their lives much more from black crime.
