A global tipping point for electric cars could come as early as 2022, as battery costs decrease and concerns about range and infrastructure ease. That’s from analysts at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, who in a little over a year’s time have turned even more optimistic about the future dominance of electric cars over internal-combustion vehicles. In a Tuesday note, the analysts forecast that one in three cars will be purely electric by 2030; their July 2016 prediction was one in 10 by the same year. “There are several factors converging that have led us to revise our thinking — a combination of changing customer preferences, increasingly viable product, regulation, and infrastructure,” they said in the note.

Transformers are designed for peak load. AC, lights, TVs, stove, hot water heater all going.
Much more than 1500 watts! You go to sleep and all that demand essentially goes away. Much more than 1500 watts.
And it is not all night. Two hours of charging satisfies most commuting needs.
Do the math.

Not all houses current loads. Charging is done while people are sleeping ... Reduced AC, no lights, no stove, no hot water heater, no TVs.
In fact demand is so low, our power company gives it away during that time.
Nope. Under $25K, at $24K plus. I shopped around, and got it at a dealer 70 miles away at discount, brand new with about 13 miles on it. I have bought all my cars at discount, fully loaded with accessories. You negotiate to get the best deal. I bought a brand new ZX for $13K under sticker, that's a deal I'll probably be hard pressed to repeat. The old Chevys I previously mentioned, some I bought at auctions. That was back in the 60s and 70s, I bought a lot of cars in my youth, most for under $100. But new cars back then were in the 2K to 4K range. My soon-to-be wife bought a brand-new Datsun fully-loaded for $2400 in 1973. Prices have gone up a tad since then.
Look every 20 amp circuit is not a charging station.. your advocacy is borderlining on zealotry. Pull into my driveway and attempt to use my circuit as your charging station and see how quickly you are arrested for trespassing and theft. Stop being silly. That line is the same nonsense as every man is a potential rapist.
Electric is nowhere near a place where it is going to replace combustion, and without either gasoline prices shooting to $10 or $20 a gallon, or regulatory force ending the legal sale of combustion engines.
It may get there some day but it’s not anywhere close today

Tesla Forum—”Charging with 110v outlet”. Discussion of experience with wall outlet charging. Verdict is ‘not practical’ beyond short commute. Adds 2 to 3 miles range per hour of charging. Best use for wall outlet is to keep the battery warm and topped-up while parked during a cold overnight stop.

Yeah, reading back over this thread after I came home, borders on a disturbed obsession. Definitely was triggered by skeptics.
What you "envision" is not possible by the laws of physics. Look up "insolation tables" for the US. Check wintertime. The best solar panels have 23% or so efficiency. Your little toy electric car is small and has very little room for photo-voltaic panels.
