Whataburger is patriotic. One of them has the preamble to the Declaration of Independence on the window. Big letters.

I have a problem with this story, I didn’t see where any action was taken against the enabling, I don’t get involved in politics manager. This can only happen because the manager was on board with it, trust me, I had a lot of years managing fast food and night shift managers create their own little kingdoms if you don’t watch out.

The police need to go find the boyfriend and beat him up again. Just do a better job the next time.

Exactly how much would one expect to to collect from an unemployed fired hamburger flipper?

A lien on whatever she earns until the millions she earns is paid up. A lifelong debt. Doesn’t matter if she dies before it is laid, it sets a precedent and the precedent is “Do Not do this crap”.

I’ve been to that Whataburger. Employees there seemed pretty normal to me. Maybe the night shift has a different attitude.

I don’t think you can put a lien on welfare, food stamps and child support ...

Problem being that dashcam video showed no beating took place.

The HTML parser ate my last post, here’s the correction.

Whataburger’s Customer Service number:
(800) 628-7437

It is staffed 24 hours a day, and apparently their call center has not heard anything about this. I just called them and informed the operator that until the idiot manager got fired and a clear policy of “no discrimination against anyone based on occupation, race or creed, PERIOD” was set, I would no longer be eating at Whataburger and would encourage everyone I know to avoid eating at Whataburger.

Be civil if you choose to call them and be sure to reference the fact that this is all over Fox News, the Dallas Morning News (dallasnews.com) and much of the internet. Emphasize that while firing the racist employee was a good step in the correct direction, not firing the manager on site at the time was a big mistake.

Here’s a suggested script for people to use, after explaining about the Denison incident and going on to express your own disquiet: “The manager at this Denison Texas location saw this clear discrimination being committed by one of his employees and walked away saying that ‘he doesn’t get involved in politics.’ I find that unacceptable. I am -insert minority/’protected’ group here-, what if I walk into one of your restaurants and someone refuses to serve me simply because I am -name here again-? Will your manager at that restaurant simply walk away claiming he doesn’t get involved? Your current policy seems to encourage this exact behavior from your restaurant management. I am not comfortable going to a restaurant whose de facto policy for their managers is to permit discrimination and bigotry because corporate policy says it’s okay to do so without recrimination or consequence. As such, until you fire this manager and issue a clear, public statement of a new policy that managers are to prevent employees from discriminating against anyone for any reason, I will not be eating at your restaurants and I will advise everyone I know to avoid them as well.”

They’re so patriotic they put up big no-guns signs in the windows. Not terribly enthused about that.

Along with firing the bitch, they should treat all the local cops free for a month....if it was my business, I'd want the cops to think well of it.

One of the local gas marts serves cops free coffee and welcomes them with open arms - I will bet they will not be one of them that gets robbed...they are always busy with regular patrons too and don't seem to notice/care when I have my weapon uncovered while in their place.

“Do you think that any fast food or sit down restaurant would ever hire a person with that on her records?”

Sadly, if that is on her record at this Whataburger, no future employee ever will know that. Having worked in HR for several years, I know it’s no longer possible to give a negative response if a potential employer asks for references. (Result of lawsuits.) IIRC, the only thing you can do is verify the salary they made, and the dates of employment. Can’t even respond if they ask if you’d ever re-hire this employee. So she’s basically safe.

So now employers rely on Google searches.

“So now employers rely on Google searches.”

If her name had been released (maybe it was; I don’t know), then that would work. I guess some employers are checking
a candidate’s social media postings — even demanding, or asking for, their passwords. I’m not sure I’m on board with the password demand; a person should be able to live his life outside of work as he wants to. Whatever is going on, I’m glad I’ve been retired for almost 10 years!! :)

They looked up the arrest. The boyfriend was never harmed in anyway. He either lied to her or she lied.
