The Philadelphia Eagles had more to celebrate last night than their 28-23 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Eagles wide receiver Marcus D. Johnson was baptized in a hotel swimming pool, with many of his teammates surrounding him. According to CBS Sports, those present were tight end Zach Ertz, offensive guard Stefen Wisniewski, tight end Trey Burton, linebacker Jordan Hicks and backup quarterback Nick Foles.

Johnson posted a photo on Twitter commemorating the moment. “First time being Baptized!” he wrote. “Corporate Worship is a beautiful thing!! Cleansed & Reborn in JESUS name!!#WholeHeartedly.”

The baptism wasn’t an anomaly. Last year, the “team pastor” and tight end Trey Burton baptized five players. The Eagles also pray regularly and have Bible studies together, reported ESPN last year.

Corporate literally means of a body (corp- body).

He’s actually demonstrating excellent literacy and usage there.

Now, if only they’d stand during the pledge and leave the bowing for God.

Ah ok, thanks. I guess I'm conditioned to see that word as an attack on capitalism. Derp.

Hey, I have a story to tell you; I was in Bermuda in 2013 and had a motorcycle accident on the bridge between St. David and St. George's islands. Got cut off by a car and went down hard, slid for long enough for the edge of my helmet (thank God I had it on) to get ground down enough that the right corner of my sunglasses were ground down too. I was in shock, paralyzed and couldn't move. Emergency crews strapped me into a gurney and I could not move. They then proceeded to carry me to the ambulance while they wobbled around with me inches from the edge of the 3' high railing on the bridge. As they did that, the first thought that crossed my mind was that if they dropped me over the rail accidentally, none of them could jump in and save me because they probably could not swim. In addition to some serious road rash, I also somehow 'lost' a $1500 Tag watch between then and the ride to the hospital.

Nothing racist about this; there is a psychological reason people of African descent are bad swimmers - they genetically are predisposed to higher bone density and muscle mass (which is why so many great athletes are of African descent) making it harder to have natural buoyancy. Why they can't ski worth a crap is still a mystery 😊.
