I thought commercial sale of venison or other game meat is illegal, otherwise poachers would run wild.

Don't know about that, but back in the day before selling striped bass for food was made illegal in NJ we'd take our catch to the back door of one of the many seafood restaurants and they'd pay us a dollar a pound. Back in the days of 25 cent drafts and 50 cent burgers, and a dollar admission to see Bruce before anybody knew who he was, a 20 pounder was your goin' out budget for the week!

How can I be almost a vegetarian when I eat pork and beef regularly, along with chicken in all different ways. Keep your food, and I’ll keep mine. I’ve made it to 70, so I must be doing something right. At least I’m happy. I wouldn’t be if I ate that other crap.

"So are you inferring that Arby's should not offer the venison sandwich?"

That's a bit of a stretch isn't it? Did I say that? I said I don't like venison and won't order their sandwich. They can sell whatever the hell they want. The only thing I get from Arby's is their corned beef sandwiches.

Arby's = "R" "B" = Roast Beef.

Maybe they should focus on roast beef?

And in those days New Jerseyites could own guns without some fat dictator in Trenton breathing down their necks.

We have striped bass (stocked) in Lake Murray, SC, but they’re not twenty pounders. The seagoing species is larger I’m sure.

It just seems odd that you would bother to respond to a thread that you had no interest in. For example, I have no interest in the TV show “Game of Thrones.” But if somebody posted a thread on it (as they often do), I don’t bother replying to it to state that I don’t watch the show and never will. Just seems kind of pointless and rude, does it not?

AFAIK Arby’s hasn’t done a pro “rainbow “ promotion yet.

“Their Pork Belly sandwiches last year were out of this world. They need to bring those back”

As well as the Chicken Salad sandwiches.

With all due respect, you’re almost a vegetarian

My takeaway from his list of likes/dislikes is that he doesn't like meat with strong flavor ("the only good fish is tuna, and only in specific cases" was a dead giveaway).

Some people are like that... gotta admit, venison and elk are "gamey" and have a stronger flavor than beef, and duck is more flavorful than chicken.

No, it’s not rude. It’s my personal opinion on the type of sandwich they are planning to offer. I didn’t see a sign that said “non-venison lovers need not post.” Look Sam, I’ve been here as long as you, and so I’ll post what I want to whatever thread I choose. Even though I’ve been here a long time, I don’t go around telling people what threads they should post on or not post on. And I don’t expect anyone else to lecture me about it either. Have a good day.

So some deer from NZ will be ground up into a vat of pink slime, shipped over here and made into loaves of something that used to resemble and may slightly taste like venison(with the help of chemical engineering), cooked, sliced paper thin and sold as venison sandwiches. And one of these special sandwiches with 2.5 oz of this meat stuff will cost how much?

Nothing some of this wont take care of...

“chain reportedly uses a supplier in New Zealand that sells grass-fed free-range venison”

why not employee some USofA hunters and stock up/fill their freezers during hunting season all across the country? The deer here are free range and grass/shrub fed. Less shipping cost too.

I love liver. The problem is that most people think you have to cook the flavor right out of it. A very hot pan, 30 seconds per side, get it off the heat and eat it. Onion and/or bacon wrapped if you so desire. Yum!

“Arby’s shot Bambi’s mom!”

I had Rudolph’s mom in Norway-——it was very good.

I don’t think I’d eat Arby’s venison. Wasting good meat on fastfood just doesn’t sound right.
