There is no limit on bulk purchases, amounts of ammunition, or magazine sizes. A gun dealer also does not have to comply with law enforcement; police inspections of Nevada gun shops are not allowed by state law. Many gun control activists believe the absence of regulations on dealers combined with the constant flow of tourism attribute to Nevada's bleak murder numbers. Since 2000, Nevada has had on average 27 gun related deaths per 100,000 people annually, by far the most in the US.
Anyway, are there Freepers out there that can look at this and give us feedback. I will continue looking for Nevada gun laws.
I think they are comparing state murder rates. Chicago is a city.
Suicides are included in those stats most of the time, as are criminals shot by the police. The higher number of gun deaths per 100,000 doesn’t necessarily mean people are shooting each other left and right.
Notice they jump from “bleak murder numbers” to “gun related deaths” in the next sentence.
Problem here is Clark County (Las Vegas). The rest of Nevada has next to no violent crime. Also, with the exception of Clark and Washoe Counties, Nevada has no people.
I understand it is State the are talking about. But Chicago is part of Illinois. Are they saying that the murder rate is so high in Nevada, it outsrips Illinois?

I remember fifty years ago when the Hippies got the bright idea to all move to Nevada, become citizens, vote themselves in and take over.
It was never more than an idea. It still required EFFORT and they didn’t have that.
I’m sure organized crime has nothing to do with their bleak murder rate. Obviously too much freedom is the issue.
When you cut out Vegas the remainder of Nevada drops down to the crime level of Wyoming. Without Vegas Nevada would also be a red state.
I’m sure they are referring to per capita numbers. Chicago may win on totals, but many locales have higher per capita #s.
Your link also shows firearms deaths at 14.7 for 2014. My guess is some funny math being thrown around to generate a number of 27
Then again, Prostitution and Gambling are known as motives for murder too.
i stopped looking at Nevada gun laws when i read they do not recognize my Colorado CHP.
Maybe they’re adding the 59 just murdered. That would raise things considerably.
