It doesn't matter if you wanted an answer from me. In an open forum, you get answers from anyone. It was also intended for other readers who might be wondering the same thing.

I think that's the point of the post. No way should we surrender an inch but I have thought for years that the NFL hides behind the flag and patriotism and now we see their unsurprising hypocrisy. They can't have it both ways and it makes everyone else look like fools. I see very little middle ground.
We get the NFL and its players to shape up and shut up and play up or take it all out:anthem,flags,Vets and State and Federal support etc.
I ultimately feel the best way the NFL and its players can change anything is by standing for the flag and country and give back to the community. That's the only proven way to prevent what they are so angry about. My cynical side says it's all one be phony BS scam anyway.

No, I read your entire post. I was referring to your observation of why do they need to play the anthem before sporting events. Chill out.

We both signed up within a week of each other. I've been nothing but respectful to everyone since I joined, but you apparently need to be arrogantly patronizing to people on first contact, which says all that I need to know.
We must be guided by different value systems. Here's to hoping that this is our first and only contact.
