But that’s NOT loyalty to the team, that’s the team screwing itself for no good reason. In the end the job of the team is to win football games with the players they have. They can decide they don’t like those players at the end of the season and get rid of them, but you put up with who you’ve got until the season ends. Benching players for non-football behavior is counter to the purpose of the team, would only be done by the dumbest of the dumb, and if it was a coach that did it the owner should fire them IMMEDIATELY, like go down to the sideline and take their headset.

I was at a bar watching that Steelers in Pittsburgh watching the start of the game and everyone there was there to watch the game... everyone cheered 78 for coming out and standing for the national anthem, and booed the rest of the team when they came out after... and this is in pittsburgh, full of life long born and bred Steeler fans.
