Saint Louis is engulfed in civil disobedience, marching and window breaking. Just three years after Michael Brown’s death by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, the city is once again the center of racial division in America.
The details of the case did not affect the rioters. The facts of the 2011 shooting death of Anthony Lamar Smith, 24, does not matter to the participants of the civil unrest. I had a speaking engagement in the Saint Louis area the afternoon of the verdict. I knew there would be trouble and even warned my attendees to be careful going home. But no one I spoke to knew the facts of this case. I asked waiters, guests and the food server. I stopped at a gas station and asked a guy pumping gas next to me. It was a non-issue to the public.
No one had followed the case, not when it happened back in 2011 or as the judge heard evidence – because those facts did not matter. What mattered was the beliefs of both sides of the issue. Those who believe cops are racist hunters of black men just knew another white cop had shot a black man. Those who believe the cops are righteous protectors of society believe the shooting was justified and the riots are just an excuse for gang members to loot.
Those who believe the police are racist have become angry and hopeless. They truly believe that they live in a country where the police purposely stop and target black men. In their hearts they accept as a fact police are their enemies and that America does not care. They may even believe that America applauds this action.

Anyone that has been involved in the political scene more than 5-6 years is damned well aware of that.
But thanks for the advice...I don't debate them anymore...but there are some conservatives with illusions of actually winning a debate with a liberal.
Ain't gonna happen, they just keep changing the narrative.
I've switched to just openly insulting them and pointing out every stupidity each and every one of them commits.
Makes me happy.
Of cource, sometime they are one and the same.
I like to burst their bubble. It’s kinda fun. I get tons of them banned because they can’t really argue with someone that disagrees with them and can articulate his position. Some of them come absolutely unglued.
And what is comical is that some of them, before they started arguing with me, were the “Thoughtful professor-type” of the site. :)
Hmmm, Didn’t we just learn that Offensive Speech is ground for Violence?? Since I find Liberals to be Offensive in nature, shouldn’t they just be Pummeled as soon as they speak??
Debating a liberal is rather like wrestling with a pig - you only end up dirtied in the muck, and the pig enjoys it.
And when you finally struggle back to your feet (if you still can), the pig is still a pig.
On a related note, too many conservatives are supporting liberal newspapers. The NY Times, Washington Post, etc. Subscription and advertisement fees go to fund far-left editors and writers and to stifle the truth. When I ask my friends why, their lame excuses cover the spectrum. ‘For the crosswords’, ‘the comics’, and the ever-popular, ‘Oh, I just want to see what the other side is thinking.’

I agree that there is never any point in arguing with a leftist.
I have found that the only time it is productive to debate with a leftist is when there are others watching who might benefit from observing the exchange.
Also, always remember that you will never change anyone’s mind unless you can first get them to like you. Basic sales training 101.

Civil unrest is the point.
Facts are irrelevant.
Context, circumstances, truth... psh.
The whole point is chaos.
Almost all crimes and acts of violence are committed by someone who thinks they have been wronged. This is the basic psychology of any crime. If you interview someone who murdered their spouse or robbed a bank and got them to confess, with the confession you will hear passionate justifications and rationalizations about how they have been wronged.
There is foreign money behind the civil unrest.
There is an effort by outside powers to socially destabilize America. The way to do it is to convince a segment of the populace that they are justified to resent and attack greater society.
Of course facts get in the way often times.
Facts don’t matter.
The anger matters.
The cause matters.

About the only entertainment value was when the St Louis mob actually went after the mansion of their moonbat gungrabbing mayor who thought she was on their side.
Her first husband was actually killed in carjacking. She still fought concealed carry in Missouri.
A relative showed me that the way to befuddled, confuse, and derail the thoughts of liberals is to simply ask questions when they make a ridiculous talking point statement.
Chances are good that they will be reeling from the question like many of the lunatic liberals that Tucker Carlson makes mincemeat of with his questions.
It’s fun to watch them squirm
