My 12-year-old neighbor begs me to let him mow my lawn and his mom & dad won’t even let him think about taking money for it. On the other hand, riding his dad’s mower is like play for him. (He only mows when I’m out of town). So I guess it depends on ones neighbors/neighborhood.

I mowed loans for several people with a hand mower when I was a kid.

I wonder how Trump got that letter. I assume his mail is preread, so, I assume someone thought it important enough to give to him.

Yeah, cleaning houses, shoveling snow, raking leaves, ironing, carrying fuel oil for senior’s stoves, babysitting and ALL for the grand sum of $0.25 per hour..and each week I put $1.00 under my mattress. Plus kept my homework up....

I was told I would never be poor if I put away $1.00 a week. Well, that lasted until I graduated high school and earned a real paycheck at my first job at $.875 per hour. Then I bought china, silverware for my hope chest as all girls did at that time. Still have it!

The kid is literally white. But what if it would have been a black kid? Can you imagine the cries? 11 year olds in our neighborhood make $40 for 1/3 acre yards. And that’s using the homeowners equipment. Minimum wage? The ain’t got time for that. My last exploited kid is now headed for the US Army and wants to make Ranger school.

At 5 I was too young to roof so I carried nails up on the roof. Realized much later my gf was just letting me play work. I eventually joined him for awhile in roofing.
