It was purely a political decision. Do I get more votes if I join or if I refrain from joining. Since there is supposedly no downside from not joining, why bother? It is a win-win by not joining.

Well, now there seems to be a downside. Trump is taking a gander at all contracts, treaties, etc. and laying down the law. It seems that the missile defense treaty applies to those who joined.

What I mean is, that if Canada was attacked by NK, China or the like, there is no doubt in my mind The US would come to Canada’s defense, regardless of any treaties, or lack thereof - and visa versa.

So you imagine that a combined strike by China and Russia on the US would not happen should we hit them first? You must be in some sort of haze fueled by some substance.

The US and all of us (including you) would cease to exist, We have no way of stopping the hundreds of ICBMs Russia & China would launch, let alone the MIRVed warheads.

A successful NORK EMP attack on the USA would probably cause almost a complete collapse of the Canadian economy. And as in the USA, 80 to 90% of Canadians probably would starve to death within a month or two.

If we hit NK, regardless of the circumstances, china and russia WILL retaliate. NK is their proxy pitbull, and SK is their hostage.

The chinese and the russians could care less. The chinese alone have a billion plus bodies to burn through, and the communist dogma that they’re all expendable. The russians are close to the same, but with less bodies, and more fatalism.

Regardless, if the norks decide to do something stupid, a lot of people are going to die a horrible death somewhere as a consequence, and there’s not much anybody can do about it.
