California initiative would legalize psychedelic mushrooms

California would become the first state in the nation to legalize psychedelic mushrooms if a long-shot ballot initiative passes muster with voters next year.

The measure is backed by a legalization activist who says he kicked his heroin habit with the help of a mushroom trip in Death Valley. It would exempt Californians over the age of 21 from a state law that criminalizes mushrooms containing psilocybin, the compound that gives some mushrooms psychedelic properties. […]

… California is one of eight states where voters have legalized marijuana for recreational use, and Saunders said legalizing psilocybin-bearing mushrooms is the logical next step.

But the hurdle for gaining ballot access is steep: To qualify, supporters will have to turn in more than 365,000 valid signatures of California voters, a difficult undertaking for even a well-funded campaign. …

you know what occurs to me? I read an article about German elites tossing up the idea of dosing Germans with a female hormone to make them more amiable to the import of foreigners.

Here at home, a common complaint of employers is candidates can't pass a drug test. And if Dems can get enough of our youth drugged up and unable to pass an employment test, they have the perfect excuse to import even more foreigners.

And the youth get so excited over the hype of being able to use something 'illegal', they don't stop to think they may be not only driving themselves insane, but are destroying any future employment prospects they might have because they are actually participating in their own replacement.

Psilocybin causes permanent brain changes with a single dose. It supressed core brain functions with one medium level “high” for over a year now in medical tests done on its use as a depression medicine.

Central brain function is used in filling out forms, putting things in order, solving complex puzzles. In short, working for a living.

If this goes through millions of lives will be destroyed.

It is so tempting to just throw in the towel but I think eventually there is a chance that the American Liberal will kill itself off by abortion, drug use and rotten gene pool that will retard them so much as to be non functioning in society. They will go as the Dodo Bird.

Sort of like organic LSD, I guess. Quite a bit of research that’s been reported on psilocybin shows good results in mental disorders.

Long ago, on this site, when some were in favor of legalizing pot, the arguments raged that soon people would try to legalize ALL proscribed illicit substances. The legalization side poo pooed us. We were right, they were wrong, and a population on dope is the end of civilization.

That's THE stupidest post, on FR, in over a decade!

GOD made ( or was it really not HIM ? ) opium, heroine, etc. and you truly believe that it's fine for people to "use" these substances and for others to have to PAY to then take care or jail or house them in now non-existent insane asylums?

This isn’t going anywhere. I think the public views hard liquor as the benchmark - any substance that is demonstrably less intoxicating and harmful than hard liquor (like marijuana) may get a sympathetic hearing, but psychedelics and other hard drugs don’t have a prayer.
