Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he and President Donald Trump are in regular contact about “shared goals” and working together to advance them. He says people suggesting otherwise are “clearly not part of the conversation.”

I’ll believe it when he is putting President Trump’s tax package, as outlined, through the Senate with no delays and no excuses.
Apparently he saw his approval numbers. If he values his job this needs to be true...moreover it needs to be true for the rest of us. Let’s see some real action.
Although...I am suspicious of some of these stories coming out of places like CNN about the supposed angry phone calls back and forth, etc. They could be taking advantage of the natural suspicion of the Washington establishment among Trump’s base to plant stories like this to artificially spark further divisions to keep the agenda from moving forward...it is all too believable, but the sources are suspect. Fake news has many forms and many purposes.
Examples of those "clearly not part of the conversation” include close friends and associates to whom he tells a completely different story. The likelihood that Trump will fail to finish out his term is a good example of a story for the friends and associates.

A fair assessment. He got credit where credit was due on blocking Obama’s SCOTUS appointment and then undoing the Democrats attempt to block Gorsuch from being confirmed. That was huge, and that was good. That doesn’t mean after that you just roll over and play dead. Keep going...with the Gorsuch thing it is apparent he is capable if he actually wants to do it...and relying on McCain should obviously be off the table now.
