India can take on China under any circumstances, says Baba Ramdev

Ludhiana : Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Friday criticized ,China over the ongoing military impasse on the Doklam Plateau and described India's a self contented and contained country that could take on China under any circumstances.

He said, "India is today a self contented country with sufficient arms, ammunitions and army to fight against China."

"Let China accumulate blood, dollars, weapons and whatsoever, but they cannot threaten or harm our nation under any circumstances," he added.

He further said that how can China threaten the nation, when the world knows that India has one of the largest markets and the fact that China can generate almost Rs.20 lakh crores of business and earn a profit of approximately Rs. five lakh crores, which is almost half of the revenue earned by the Centre.

"I think India must strongly take on China and compel them to bend at their knees. It can suppress weak countries of the globe, but a country like India is not going to be suppressed by these threats, and neither can China compete with India at any level," Baba Ramdev said.

Earlier he described China as the epitome of "promoting war and hatred" in the world, and reiterated his demand for a boycott of Chinese goods.

"All the Indians who feel for their country should boycott Chinese goods immediately," he said.

"Indians should strictly ban the purchase of Chinese products. This will reduce their market in our country and they would be compelled to step back," he added.

India, China and Bhutan are locked in a stand-off on the Doklam Plateau since June 16 this year, following an attempt by China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) to extend a road that previously terminated at Doka La towards the Bhutan Army camp at Zornpelri near the Jampheri Ridge, two kilometers to the south. That ridge, viewed as the border by China but as wholly within Bhutan by both Bhutan and India, extends eastward approaching India's highly-strategic Siliguri corridor. On 18 June, Indian troops apparently crossed into the territory in dispute between China and Bhutan in an attempt to prevent the road construction.

He reportedly has a large following. Backlash against China is now turning into a popular movement. A kind of grass root Hindu nationalism may be brewing, even though there must be people other than Hindus who support it.

Boycotts of Chinese goods are spreading, too

I don’t know.

I remember several years ago when Moslem terrorists seized an Indian city. Several times I saw Indian Army soldiers armed with Lee Infields. Probably newly made in .308 but still not exactly the most advanced weaponry.

On the other hand those Infields could be effective.

They should set up something like this at the border with China. It keeps people amused and seems to prevent them from killing each other.

China had a road built through Nepal to be an attack route through the Himalayas. I have been through it and it is not at all reliable through the monsoon season due to land slides blocking the road. I went to Nepal to do a post monsoon climb of Cho Oyu from the Tibet side. We had to porter over five road blockages on the way in. None on the way out.

The Chinese named this road for war the “Friendship Highway”.

India could use it too if they kicked the snot out of the Maoist Nepal government.

Let them huff and puff and see what the rabid leftist soothsayers in the media say. I’ll bet they won’t care .0001 percent as much as Trump and his spat with Looney Kim. And nothing will come of this this, India and China are just beating their chests, wondering who will back down first.

Doing nothing can be worse for India, and probably to the World. In this case, India is defending against China's expansionism whose eventual goal is to take over North Eastern part of India.

At this point, China's entitlement as the sole hegemon of the world is more dangerous than Indians' belief of reincarnation. In some sens, India is doing the work U.S. failed to do.

China is arrogant enough to believe they can win a two front war.

I disagree completely.

An Indian country nationalism that transcends a religious system might be an excellent thing. India itself is slowly becoming westernized, which is a Christian thing. West-oriented Hindus can be easy to evangelize.

Sorry but yoga guru Baba Ramdev is mistaken and delusional. China’s military is better equipped with superior combined arms, better disciplined, better led and has soundly defeated India in the past. India would be very foolish to provoke China. It would be a catastrophic repeat of 1962.

Yoga guru Baba Ramde

Unless he moonlights as a military expert, I'm afraid I'll have to go with the conventional news reports which give China a clear military advantage over India.

In a war of attrition the country with the better industrialist base wins. China wins.

In this case, the war of attrition is a loss for China. The way political playing field is shaping up is that India only have to “not lose” or drag it out. That will put a dent on China's vaunted military prowess.

China loses a tank in battle a Chinese factory cranks one out the next day. India loses a tank and the have to procure it from foreign sources and ship it to the battle field. So China wins. The USA is almost in the same boat as India, a very weak industrial base.
