When the remaining members of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities resigned en masse Friday morning, they left a hidden message.
The first letter of each paragraph of their resignation letter to President Trump spelled out the word "RESIST," the rallying cry of the president's opponents.
The first words of each paragraph are "Reproach," "Elevating," "Speaking," "Ignoring," Supremacy," and "Thank."
Twitter users were quick to make the connection.
Sixteen members of the committee, first established under President Ronald Reagan, resigned together Friday in protest of Trump's comments on the violence in Charlottesville, Va. The commission is made up of representatives from Broadway, Hollywood, and the broader arts and entertainment community. The other members had already resigned after Trump was elected in November.
Actor Kal Penn, a member of the panel, tweeted the letter Friday morning.
"The administration's refusal to quickly and unequivocally condemn the cancer of hatred only further emboldens those who wish America ill," the letter said. "We cannot stand idly by, the way that your West Wing advisers have, without speaking out against your words and actions."
Since Trump was elected, "resist" has been used as part of a campaign by Democrats to oppose Trump's agenda.

That’s all they can to. The Democrats can’t propose any policies because most Americans will REJECT them. Muddying the waters and making the president look bad to the voters is all these people have.

I read that these people were holdovers from Obama and had never even met during Trump presidency. Trump was not involved and Ivanka was an honorary member.
Something tells me these bitter people are not going to contribute to Trump’s re-election fund.

I've got a real picture of these liberal artsy-fartsy entertainment types accomplishing ANYTHING of value to the Trump administration that would make American great again.
They would back-bite him at every turn.
I hope the Prez abolishes the whole concept of such a committee....and there won't be any more empty committee seats for any more empty-heads to be appointed.
