‘Bathroom bill’ fails in Texas

Efforts to pass a so-called “bathroom bill” in Texas failed this week when the legislature abruptly ended a 30-day special session with no vote on the measure.

Despite support among voters and legislators, the bill, titled the “Texas Privacy Act,” garnered a pack of big business opponents, including organizations like the NFL, Apple, Amazon, Exxon Mobile, and Hilton, who threatened retribution against the state if the bill passed.

The proposed legislation would have required transgender individuals to use the public restroom corresponding to their biological sex in schools and state buildings. North Carolina passed a similar law in 2016 but then partially repealed the measure due to public backlash.

To the devil because Texas thought itself, unaided, on its own innate virtue to be stronger than the devil, and it was WRONG.

That’s where Texas values went.

[Consensual family and genderless single user stalls.]

Sounds fine, we are going that way anyway.

Then there are the showers. LOL

The problem becomes how to police it. If it can’t be fairly policed then it will probably be tossed out as unenforceable.

In Texas, law or no law, the women will "police" the hell out of it. If the wrong freak shows up in the women's loo....they'll kick his @$$.

And they’ll get sued for neat sums. There is no escape along those lines. The evil opposition always will outdo you if the game is brute force.

NYC has numerous business that use the genderless single user stalls. They mostly all smell like Europe stalls.....like they mop with urine.

He was talking about calling another special session, but not sure when or if he can get it done. He was not a happy camper!

The Corporatist Trump Hating Business Elites control politicians here, there and everywhere.

Our votes for Republicans are so futile.

Even if an elected body passes a law and the executive signs it, the judiciary is the backstop for elitist control.

I frankly am not a moralistic religious crusader obsessed with sexuality issues, but the enemies of the religious people and this proposed law in Texas are President Trump’s enemies and that is beyond dispute.

All they gotta do now is learn to pee standing up at a urinal.

I’m pretty sure that’s who Gov. Abbott pointed his finger at. Wouldn’t surprise me!

The cowards!

Texas, the next Kalifornia. Whodda thunk it. Might as well tear down the Alamo now. There were slave owners fighting there.

Strauss owns the honcho of the rules committee. If you uproot Strauss, then things change greatly.
