Will Awan go Barry White? Will he hit a Michael Jackson note? Will he throw in some rap or heavy metal? Whatever musical route Imran Awan chooses to take, if he knows ANYTHING about Debbie Wasserman Schultz, he is going to hit every note, high and low. That could be why Wasserman Schultz didn't fire Awan when every other Democratic member of the house who once employed him did. He may know something we SHOULD know about Wasserman Schultz, former head of the Democratic National Committee.
The Awans are now caught up in the system, and that is not where they want to be. That was evident by the fact that Imran Awan was caught heading to Pakistan to join his family. It is said he was planning to return to the U.S. Somehow, I doubt he was. Awan and his wife were indicted Thursday on four counts including bank fraud and making false statements.
The grand jury decision in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia comes roughly a month after Awan was arrested at Dulles airport in Virginia trying to board a plane to Pakistan, where his family is from. The Awans have kids. They don't want to go to prison. I'm pretty sure the Awans would rather see Debbie Wasserman Schultz in a jailhouse jumpsuit than themselves.They won't be "worried about her due process," if the federal government offers a deal for any information they may have.
Let the case with former Rep. Corinne Brown be a lesson. Her long-time allies jumped ship when faced with time in the pokey. They sang like canaries. They hit Mariah Carey-type notes.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz had better hope Imran Awan doesn't have anything on her, because if he does, he is telling it. All of it. Given the bipartisan disgust that America has for the disgraced former DNC chair, people will be waiting with bated breath for whatever Awan possibly has to say, popcorn at the ready.
Let the Debbie "what's she done now" Schultz show begin!
