DENVER -- It is not every day the word "flamethrower" is used in federal court documents.
But attorneys representing homeless plaintiffs have included that language in their latest motion filed in federal court.
The plaintiffs are fighting to end the city's homeless sweeps -- the practice of removing items resembling a camp on public sidewalks or parks.
City officials have denied the accusations.

Heh. My opinion of Denver has just climbed a few points.
It’s actually not a bad idea. You could probably hear the lice popping like a bowl of Rice Krispies.
Periodic Sterilization of public spaces is not a bad thing.
LOL....yes Denver just came up a point or two for me as well. Wonder if they really had a BBQ? I doubt it. Cooking off of dirty, filthy trash wouldn’t taste so good.
What did they expect to have happen when the ‘weed’ was approved? I would be for making Colorado a ‘weed’ sanctuary, like the Hotel California.
Really?
Kicking people while they are down is neat to you?
Wonder what the requisition form looks like for ordering one thru state government? Gee wonder what the warning tags look like on one! My 4wheeler has those plastic warning tags all over it.
You are ordered to leave the Bronx.
Somehow we must blame this on that evil weed, MARIJUANA.
The homeless have sprouted like weeds since weed was approved.
Unexpected!!
My friends in CO cheer for other states to legalize it so the homeless can move on to better winter weather. Apparently they’re everywhere.
No one in Denver has any flamethrower-in-action video posted to the internet? Are there any burn injuries documented?
Is a 500,000 BTU Propane torch the same as a flamethrower?
I don’t think so. Sounds like some lefty Dog Whistle attempt.
It would be a good way to disinfect the area.
Get rid of bedbugs, lice, whatever bacterial infections are hanging out there.
lolol.
“$5 CAN CHANGE A LIFE”
Yep. Takes about $5 in gas to fire up a Flamethrower.
LOL... there is no chance the current administration in this state would use force, let alone a flame-thrower to remove the homeless in Denver. The homeless are being encouraged to come here, encouraged to stay. Hickenlopper has done everything but invite them to his home.
Lived in CO (just outside of Denver) for a long time. Property values have gone through the roof, but the quality of life here is not trending well. Used to go downtown a lot. Not anymore. Sad to watch.
