It doesn’t show in the online story, but I watched a local news report about this. This was a generic stature commemorating those from NC that fell during the Civil War. There is also one for WWI, WWII, and the Korean War (possibly some others as well).

I think all or most Confederate statues will be gone within the next year. I put Jefferson and Washington and their ilk down for another 20 years. But then they’ll come down too.
