He don’t need no education.
I had tickets for his Albany NY show in September. I cancelled them once I hear it was a political anti-Trump rally and not a concert.
Like a lot of people I thought Pink Floyd would suffer after the “loss” of Waters. Instead they got better. They continued to be a great band while Waters solo career sputtered and went out. Now, as I understand it, his concerts just rehash a lot of Pink Floyd songs.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
..................
Not a fan of Waters outside of music.
Much less of a music fan of Water’s than I used to be.
Brit Floyd is just as good or better and without the political BS...........................
If you like PF then try Brit Floyd.
Enjoy the music without the guilt and political BS..................
{snicker}....Looks more like ‘mauve’ to me..................
Thanks for the post. This guy really ruined Pink Floyd for me. I was once a big fan. Now we don’t listen to it and my kids know never to buy an album or support the band in any way. Shame.
For many, Roger Waters is the Richard Wagner of Progressive Rock. Wagner wrote many famous operas, such as Das Rheingold: Entry of the Gods into Valhalla. He remains controversial by association, because many believe Wagner to have been one of Hitler’s favorite composers. Some people chose to ignore that implied link, and enjoy his compositions anyway.
ROTFL
Depressed socialist.....its a progression Freepers.
Oh my.......
I first heard Pink Floyd with DSOTM and I went back and discovered Wish You Were Here. I loved Animals, too. The Wall was where Waters pretty much took over as a solo artist, and forced the rest of the band into roles as supporters, and I absolutely hated the album - whiny, self-absorbed lyrics and muddy sound quality. There’s a lot of music to love in Pink Floyd’s catalog, and I still have both DSOTM and Animals on vinyl (as well as David Gilmour’s first solo), but Waters always has been a whiny neurotic - Woody Allen with musical talent. Who cares what he has to say besides the folks who pay hundreds for his “special editions” of The Wall.
Why did it have to be Syd that fried his brain on LSD?
I thought Waters ‘ Amused to Death was superb.
Bought on a whim and listened to the CD so many times I lost count.
It’s a real shame to learn about what a total anti-semite he is. His ranting against Israel is getting worse as he gets older.
And you get to hear his screed for a half hour or more on how he knows how the world should be ran better than the ones doing it.
Wagner was, without question, Hitler's favorite composer.
Wagner was also a brilliant composer with world stature. You make a good point. I have been a Floyd fan for 40 years. That doesn't stop now just because the bass player is a jerk.
