I would not touch that stereotype and the image it prints in a person’s mind for anything. That said, the example of Colin Kaepernick should be illuminating, as he is now a “free agent”, a status not often conferred upon young players in their first year or two. Translation - nobody dares hire him.
Stopped watching NFL closely years ago. Only tuned in for SB for probably the past 20 years. Pretty much done with them at this point. CFB is what I follow closest. They’ll head the same way eventually. Probably a good thing for multiple reasons.
The league office must be thrilled with this, especially after the ratings plummet last year. It’s become the #BLM league, in large part.

Not that my one voice will make a difference to the NFL, but it looks like, again this year, I’ll not be watching professional Football. And, I really like the sport. I will not, however, condone, in any way shape of form, any disrespect for the country that makes their privileged lives possible.

Brandon Marshall took a knee during the anthem before the Broncos season opener last year. We turned it off and never watched a game last year (been fans for 30 some years). I called the Broncos office and asked if he was still on the roster, the gal said he was. Told her we won’t be watching this year either then. Bummer, like watching on Sunday afternoon.
