Uhm Maryland flag is the coat of arms from the Calvert Family. Maryland was found about 200 years before the Civil War.
This is one of the leftist agitators who is sparking up this controversy.

And Lord Calvert died in 1632, ten years before Mayland received her first slaves.
Damn, Confederates wore boots, now I can’t wear any!
Let’s just get rid of the people who are perpetually offended by all things confederate.
This from the same fools who see nothing wrong at all with a hammer and sickle flag. Begin the pardon of any decent conservatives in that state, but Maryland deserves this idiocy, let them destroy their own flag over imagined historical impurities. Raise the hammer and sickle and be done with it, it’s “inoffensive.”
I should probably just let sleeping dogs lie but both Alabama and Florida’s state flags are taken in part from the Confederate battle flag.

I hear the distant thunder-hum,
Maryland!
The Old Line's bugle, fife, and drum,
Maryland!
She is not dead, nor deaf, nor dumb-
Huzza! she spurns the Northern scum!
She breathes! she burns! she'll come! she'll come!
Maryland! My Maryland!
The Confederate flags had red, blue and white colors, therefore we need to eliminate those three colors from all use in the USA, since they are linked to the Confederacy and slavery!
Liberals better get to banning every state flag... someone is always gonna be offended.
ISIS and Hezbollah flags fly in many snowflake demonstrations also. The country is being Talibanned.
>>But the red and white part of the flag, known as the Crossland arms, was also the design flown by Marylanders who sympathized with the South in the Civil War, according to state records.
Anyone who goes this far out on a limb to find fault with something in history needs to be removed from the USA.
According to records, people who sympathized with the South also used a toilet that was a seat with a hole and the poop fell down and away from the body. So, the PC thing to do is break with that history of racism and sit astride a dome when you poop so it does not fall away as those Confederate SOBs did during the war.
That's next.
Chris Farley says, Whoop de do.....
Actually the it’s the banner created by Lord Baltimore. The yellow and black were from the Calvert (father’s) coat of arms and the red and white from the Crossland (mother’s) coat of arms. Had nothing to do with slavery what so ever. The fact that secessionists used the Crosslands portion of the the banner is irrelevant to the history of the banner.
They wore pants too. I’m thinking we’re all in trouble now. :=)
I believe that the Maryland Legislature was ready to vote secession, but was intimidated by threats and the presence of Federal troops. So I would imagine that many of the rooted Marylanders are pro-Confederate—though of course not the huge number of Federal Bureaucrats.
