Study: 90 percent chance Earth warms by more than 2 degrees
UPI ^ | July 31, 2017 | By Brooks Hays

New research suggests the chance of limiting global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius is highly unlikely. According to the latest analysis, there is a 90 percent chance Earth will warm by 2.0 to 4.9 degrees Celsius by the end of the century.

The researchers analyzed the trajectory and impact on global warming of three factors: total world population, GDP per person and carbon intensity, or carbon emitted per dollar of economic activity.

To postulate forward, scientists analyzed the three inputs' effect on global warming over the last 50 years. Their analysis -- published this week in the journal Nature Climate Change -- suggests there is only a 5 percent chance Earth warms by less than 2 degrees.

Researchers found carbon intensity was the most important factor in predicting future warming. As technologies improve and governments curb emissions, carbon intensity has been dropping in many advanced economies over the past few decades. But at the current rate, carbon intensity is unlikely to fall fast enough to prevent significant warming.

The question has always been, what does man have to do with it? And the answer is diddly squat.

Don’t know where in the vast kingdom of Texas you reside, but we are cooking in Central Texas. The average of number of days over 100 is 13, but so far, we have had 26 and August, the hottest month of the season, begins tomorrow.

Interestingly, several of the heat records we have broken were set in 1925, in the days before air conditioning, which makes us seem like pansies. Of course, we hope never to beat the record of days over 100 set in 2011, when we fried through 90 days over 100 and capped it off with the largest wildfire in Texas history when over 1700 homes were incinerated Labor Day weekend.

The question has always been, what does man have to do with it? And the answer is diddly squat.

I don't necessarily believe this. I think it's plausible that a modern industrialized world has had an affect on the environment. At issue is how much? Is it all necessarily bad? Do we want to return to a stone age life to mitigate it? I believe the answers are; negligible, not always, and no.

The problem is that conservatives have allowed the liberals to politicize the issue in a way in which they have the upper hand and can appeal to emotion. Our messaging has been horrible. Instead of flat out denying climate change, we need to highlight the wealth distribution and economy-destroying "solutions" that are buried in the fine print.

President Trump has been reasonably effective at this when he pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Accords. This is the angle we need to attack the Left from.

Funny how the cure for ‘Global Warming” just coincidental match a World Communist Government.

I suppose it was just coincidence that, after the fall of the Iron Curtain, Green Party membership rose in amounts equal to Communist Party membership declines.

That has to be the most ridiculous study I have ever heard of: “The researchers analyzed the trajectory and impact on global warming of three factors: total world population, GDP per person and carbon intensity, or carbon emitted per dollar of economic activity.” This is just ludicrous. These factors pretty much have nothing to do with the global temperatures.

“Global Warming - Climate Change” world biggest hoax and scam.
Just like Obama causing Global Flooding by pissing in the ocean.
That much can humans contribute.
Elaborate scam to screw off taxpayers off their money!

Earth climate and changes are dependent on Sun’s and Sunspots activity supplying 99.99% of energy. Humans can do schit about it.
Volcano eruptions can produce much more distractions to climate than all humans and SUVs farting together.
CO2 is not poison, it is “food” for plants, which in turn produce Oxygen, that we need to breathe.
STOP the scam, jail all the scammers!!!
God bless and protect Mr. Trump!
MAGA!!!!

The problems at Hatteras and Ocracoke are basically caused by global warming.

Oregon Inlet is shifting necessitating the construction work on the Bonner Bridge. It was also noted here that a new island, an extension of Cape Point at Cape Hatteras, has formed. Both events or rather processes have the same root cause.

At Cape Hatteras the labrador current flowing South, meets the Gulf Stream flowing north. The waves break one way, southerly, north of the cape and the northerly, south of the cape. They collide sometimes spectacularly where they meet. The collision resulted in not only Cape Hatteras but the more extensive Diamond Shoals sand banks that extend miles into the sea.

Global warming has produced an increased southerly flow in the labrador current moving sand deposited hundreds of years ago. The result is a filling of Oregon inlet ant a new islet at the cape. The balance between the currents that caused relative stability of the outer banks is gone. The more forceful Labrador current has the upper hand.

Sorry...... the events are actually happening. The cause for the strengthened Labrador current is debatable

My standard answer to “man made global warming”.

Think back to the time period of 1939 to 1945.

Thousands of ships burning fuel oil on the seas.
Thousands of planes burning high octane av gas.
Thousands of tanks and other vehicles burning gas and diesel.
Huge fires like Ploesti and Dresden.
And for the icing on the cake, two atomic blasts.

SO if man is responsible, how come all that didn’t wreck the planet?

It's currently 76 degrees outside. How will ever bear to survive those scorching 78 degree day?!?

These are Celsius degrees you are being threatened with. If true, that would put you just over 79 degrees!

The whole basis for the prediction sounds like it is based on carbon intensity. So first one has to agree that carbon is the chief villain of global warming, which I dot concede.

. You are correct I just created a human behavioral science model that shows exactly that. I first had to ignore the three dozen models that did not support my hypothesis. I then found 97 out of 100 people that both claimed they were human behavioral scientists and supported the results of my model.

This is the first video any home schooler need to show their Environmental Science students..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygY57FdRcr0
