Trump Urged To Use Recess Appointment To Replace Sessions
CNN ^ | July 27, 2017

Posted on 07/26/2017 9:03:38 PM PDT by Helicondelta

Sources familiar with the President's thinking tell CNN that he is being urged by some associates that a recess appointment is an option worth pursuing in order to avoid a messy confirmation process in the short term.

Although there are multiple political and procedural road blocks, the theory, if he could find a way to pull it off, would be to install a new attorney general while the Senate is in recess, which would allow that person to stay in place through 2018.

A new attorney general might be willing to more aggressively oversee Mueller's probe into the Trump campaign's ties to Russia or fire the special counsel outright, as Trump has suggested he wants.

So spooked are Democrats that the audacious Trump might actually try to pull off a switch, they are now speaking out publicly against it and double-checking long-established procedures to make sure there is not a loophole he can exploit.

We loathed and despised Obama’s getting around the constitutional requirement for confirmation. Let’s not support more corrupt politics just because it’s our guy. I hope Trump refuses.

Go read your Constitution. You’ll find a recess appointment is a Constitutionalally enumerated right of the President. Obama used it illegally in that he made recess appointments when the Senate was not technically out of session. He got called on it by SCOTUS, unanimously.

It’s almost as if Trump hasn’t already well established his ability to manipulate the pathological lying msm by setting up bogus kurfuffles in his admin.

And, it is sad to see so many still on their knees sucking down and swallowing whatever the pathological liars of the msm make up and pump out through their feed tubes.

That task is dealt with already. Wray will be confirmed as soon as the Senate gets around to it. McConnell claims he will bring that up before the scheduled recess. McCabe then recedes to his Senate-confirmed position of Deputy Director.

Exactly how to remove McCabe might be tricky, him having a Senate-confirmed position. Wray, Rosenstein, Sessions (if he is still in office), or Trump can fire him though.

Trump isn’t going to fire Sessions. Nor will Sessions tender his resignation. I keep telling you folks that Trump is miles ahead of his competitors and is fully aware of what’s going on. This is rope-a-dope. Trump tried to work with everybody but soon found out they wanted him destroyed. So Trump is going to lower the boom on all of D.C. shortly.

Sessions appoints rosenstein as DAG—strike one

Sessions recuses himself—strike two

Rosenstein appoints special counsel to investigate TRUMP!—strike three. Congratulations jeff, you’ve successfully fvcked our chances that America will survive.

After 8 years of wholesale treason and lawlessness we finally have a special counsel to investigate a newly elected President.

Bang up job, jeff. If you had any honor or humility you would have committed hari kari by now.
Staggers the imagination.

You seem to want Trump to play nice, that would be a good thing, but only if they did the same. When we play nice we get: Romney, McCain, Dole as our candidates. I’m tired of playing nice. It is time to kick a$$ and start taking names.

Congress is the head of the swamp monsters. Time and again so called ‘republicans’ when in control of Congress show themselves to be mindless and spineless...

Sure makes me wonder what cash cows they are personally protecting.

There is no Constitutional requirement for confirmation.

Sessions not perfect, but on the side of the angels. Let him stay. He is buying Trump a lot of approval points by really helping reduce illegal immigration. No one else will do that.

Until I witness the indictments if Hillary, Huma, Lynch, Rice, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Lois Lerner et al, then as far as I am concerned Jeff Sasquatch ain't doing his freakin' job.

All he's really done so far is hide behind the curtain and make it easier for private citizens to have their property seized without a warrant.

And that right there is the mark of a craven little coward. And yeah, I'm calling it as I see it.

Fake News

CNN desperately wants this. They’ve generate a narrative and are working to make it happen. It would fulfill their “Saturday night massacre” fantasy.
