The Deep State Coup Trap. McCain sent an aide to the UK to pick up the first hard copy of the bogus Dirty Dossier. McCain hand-delivered it to Comey. Then Comey requested the private meeting with Trump to discuss the Dirty Dossier on Jan 6th. The fact of the meeting and the existence of the DD was then leaked by Comey to the NYT, putting the entire Deep State Coup Trap into motion. (And BTW, this is why Trump thought one-on-one meetings with the FBI director were SOP: the first was at Comey's request.)

Brennan voted Communist in 1976 and then joined the intel community in 1980. I simply could not believe that he would be approved for employment until I recalled that Jimmy Carter was President and Stansfield Turner was his CIA director. Turner’s policies did much to eliminate the agent on the ground (humint) and the reliance of technology (sigint).

The CIA under Carter was complicit in one of the great blunders of CIA history when he supported the return of Khomeini to Iran and the ouster of the Shah. Carter was a blunder; Turner a blunder; Iran a blunder; and it is likely that Brennan was the biggest blunder of them all.

I’m no fan of Brennan but Sharia Law installed itself after Saddam was gone.

Iraq is a Shiite majority country and they wanted Sharia law. It was the first thing they asked for … demanded. They were rioting in the streets for Sharia Law. The few secularist fled the country. Most of the people available to run things after de-Bathification (Sunnis) were Shiite muslims, many of them backed by Iran.

I wouldn’t pin all that on Brennan et al. We should not have been in the middle of that Sunni/Shia mess to begin with, much less telling them how to run their own damn country.
