Thank you for reformatting those Trump tweets for legibility.
The internet has broken so many standards of simple English composition, you sometimes can’t make heads or tails of written communications online.
All of this goes back to what I posted in another thread yesterday.
When Trump announced he was running, he came right out and said politicians were dishonest, corrupt and incompetent. Politicians didn’t like that.
Then he said he would stop the corruption in DC, which morphed into the “Drain the Swamp” campaign slogan.
That’s where this all originates. The politicians are all doing their best to bring down the President, Democrats very publicly and vocally, Republicans in the background and silently, they need to be seen in public as if they actually support Trump. They do not.
The politicians know that Trump will do exactly what he says, and that is the basis of all the fake news stories, the Democrats’ constantly screaming the Russians are coming, the slow walking of all nominee confirmations, the failure of Congress to pass any serious legislation, all of it.
The whole thing is all about one concept, they are determined to stop Trump, who plans to derail their DC gravy train.
Pretty simple actually, the swamp critters are fighting for their lives. Little will be accomplished until Trump gets more of his nominees confirmed, and they can start finding and firing all the seriously embedded swamp critters. Especially the FBI Director...
Whether Wray goes after the Clinton Foundation or not, I don't know. I do know that Enron is not the Deep State. In fact it was Mueller and the Deep State that went after Enron! And now they are going after Trump.
How, specifically, would financial crime differ from one corporation to the next? The Clinton Foundation, for all its criminal ties, still has to abide by federal regulations for that type of Foundation.
bttt
Not formally but for all intents and purposes. Since Sessions held a role on the Trump campaign; he won’t be involved in any conflict with the Clinton machine.
It’s the honorable nature of Jeff Sessions. Doesn’t mean others can’t pursue it. They have active investigations to pursue.
“Second post on lack of personnel. Did a mass exodus happen? If so, where are the replacements? Not talking about Directors and such. Rank and file are there. Make them work.”
There’s no lack of personnel. They are almost to a person supporters of Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Deep State.
A mass exodus as you suggest would be a gift to America. It hasn’t happened.
AG Sessions needs a lot more people in place.
The reason he gave for recusing from matters involving the Clinton campaign is completely divorced from 28 CFR 45.2, which applied because of Sessions' role in the Trump campaign. 28 CFR 45.2 provides more or less that he can't "investigate himself and his friends."
In his January 10 confirmation hearing, he gave this reason for recusing form matters associated with Hillary Clinton:
SESSIONS: Mr. Chairman, it was a highly contentious campaign. I, like a lot of people, made comments about the issues in that campaign. With regard to Secretary Clinton and some of the comments I made, I do believe that that could place me objectivity in question. I've given that thought.I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.
GRASSLEY: OK. I think, that's -- let me emphasize then with a follow up question. To be very clear, you intend to recuse yourself from both the Clinton e-mail investigation and any matters involving the Clinton Foundation, if there are any?
SESSIONS: Yes.
Later, he was asked a hypothetical question about recusing from investigating the Trump campaign. It is clear from his answer that he was unaware of the "friends have to recuse" regulation.
DURBIN: What if, hypothetical, same as Hillary Clinton, we are dealing with an investigation that involves the Trump campaign or anyone in the Trump campaign, would you recuse yourself as attorney general from that prosecution?SESSIONS: My response to the -- my recusal issue was because I'd made public comments about it that could be construed as having an opinion on the final judgment that would have to be rendered. I don't think I made any comments on this issue that go to that, but I would review it and try to do the right thing as to whether or not it should stay within the jurisdiction of the attorney general or not.
DURBIN: It would strike me that this is an obvious case for a special prosecutor if it involves a campaign leading to a candidate who selected you as the attorney general. Wouldn't an abundance of caution suggest that you wouldn't want any questions raised about your integrity in that type of prosecution?
SESSIONS: Senator Durbin, I think it would be incumbent upon anybody who's holding the office of attorney general at that time to carefully think his way through that, to seek the advice and to follow the normal or appropriate special prosecutor standards. And so I would intend to do that. But I have not expressed an opinion on the merits of those issues, to my knowledge.
Sessions Jan 10, 2017 Confirmation Hearings
Now, the fact that Sessions has recused does not render the president powerless, not by a long shot. The law is the law, and it is incumbent on the DoJ as a department to deal with lawbreakers. Sessions recusing may make the DoJ stronger on those matters, not weaker. I'm not saying that is the case, just that Sessions' recusal doesn't kill anything. Not any more than Lynch recusing would have reduced the chance that a Clinton e-mail charge would proceed. Lynch would have spiked it for sure, get her out of the way, and maybe it isn't spiked.
If the FBI forwards a Clinton case, and McCabe is the one sitting on those, now, Sessions will recuse, formally, as he said he would in his confirmation. His recusal will not be based on 28 CFR 45.2.
