I didn’t support Rudy for AG at first because I thought it appeared that he’d lost a step or two. Hope not. At this point Rudy would be a tremendous upgrade. Say what you want about Rudy’s political leanings but this is a law enforcement office and not a policy one. Rudy’s a fighter and he’ll be a great help if we ever are going to clean this sewer!

The DOJ is in charge of criminal immigration enforcement. Sessions has been rounding up the criminal aliens and gang members, and is increasing immigration judges to take care of the backlog of cases.

I don’t think Guiliani could get confirmed. Rand Paul HATES him.

On top of that, everyone would have to think that he was being hired to fire Mueller and generally be Trump’s hatchet man.

I have to think most senators still want to pretend in some way that the DOJ is not a political arm of the executive branch.

Rudy should be FBI. He’s too old for the AG

Since the Deputy AG is actually the guy in charge of investigations and prosecutions (look up his duties on the DOJ web site), the President ordering an investigation needn’t involve Sessions at all.

There are also a number of US Attorneys whose jurisdictions certainly include the places where Hillary/Obama crimes were committed. They don’t even need explicit orders.

First, the president will have to go back on his statement of November 22 that he will not pursue any further investigation of Hillary. "She's been through enough." He made that statement, I believe, even before Sessions had been named as the AG nominee.

Good point. But it appears Trump has changed his mind. So is Sessions up to the task?

So, point out to us when Trump changed his mind and instructed the DOJ to begin an investigation of Hillary.

Are you seriously using the Trump tweets of recent days as a valid reason for criticizing Sessions because Hillary is not being investigated, which Trump ruled out on November 22, 2016?

It appears? You've just stumbled upon the problem. Clear, specific instructions need to issued if Trump is going back on his earlier decision to not pursue an investigation of Hillary. And those instructions to the AG should not be issued with a tweet.

Trump's Twitter message was the lead story on the news at the top of the last hour this morning. The second story was Jared Kushner's closed-door meeting with the U.S. Senate committee.Did it ever occur to you that President Trump posts these things just to make sure people are talking about something OTHER THAN what would otherwise be the top story in the news? LOL.

Trump tweets stuff all the time. There are Fake "Top Stories" about Fake Collusion, all the time.

Here's a exact quote from President Trump's interview with the New York Times last week (he's discussing Sessions' decision to recuse himself) ...

"It's extremely unfair, and that’s a mild word, to the president. So he recuses himself. I then end up with a second man [Rosenstein], who’s a deputy. Who is he? And Jeff hardly knew. He’s from Baltimore."

That statement is either deliberately misleading or is totally incoherent in light of the following:

1. President Donald Trump nominated Rod Rosenstein to serve as Deputy Attorney General in January. Up to that point, he was serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Maryland District -- a post he held since his appointment by George W. Bush in 2007.

2. Rosenstein was eventually confirmed for this post in late April.

3. While this was all going on (from January to April), Rosenstein remained in his U.S. Attorney post in Maryland and was included in the group of 46 U.S. Attorneys whose resignations Jeff Sessions demanded in early March. President Trump refused to accept his resignation.

Does anyone here really think President Trump doesn't know who Rod Rosenstein was? LMAO.

I remember Trump saying he would not pursue Hillary. Has he changed his mind?

Yeah you are right. Trump is just repeatedly making a statement just to hear himself talk. He doesnt mean what he says. In fact he means the opposite!

When the cult of sessions doesnt want to accept something they just basically ignore the obvious. Sessions will be gone within months.

Also, a narcissist: “The man cannot tell the truth, but he combines it with being a narcissist ― a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country has ever seen.”

How amoral is Donald Trump? “The man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him.”

Trump is also very insecure: “Bullies come from a deep yawning cavern of insecurity. There is a reason Donald builds giant buildings and puts his name on them wherever he goes.”

Something for the ladies: “Donald has a real problem with women. People who are insecure, people who are insecure about who they are, Donald is terrified of strong women. He lashes out at them.”

But will he betray his supporters? “Donald will betray his supporters on every issue. ... He will betray you on every issue across the board.”

Are we staring at the abyss, by any chance? “We are staring at the abyss.”

I have always supported Jeff Sessions, but...he has badly disappointed me, and millions of other Americans, too!!! Sessions is on the cliff’s edge, a self-inflicted position, he himself created. He either stays on as AG, gets forced out by POTUS Trump, or redeems himself...immediately.

To redeem himself, he must order Assistant AG Rosenstein to immediately fire Robert Mueller and his entire biased Democrat, liberal, low life, anti-Trump staff!!! If Rosenstein refuses to fire and disgrace Mueller, Session should fire Rosenstein on the spot. Failure to do this...will cause his (Sessions) departure from this job as Trump’s AG!!!

I cannot believe that Sessions stood by while AAG, Rosenstein approved the Trump witch hunt, that Mueller and his Democrat scum & vermin traitors have embarked upon!!!

If everyone on this site simply read your posts, there would be no reason to discuss most of the nonsense that passes for “news” these days. LOL.

Who are these “sources within the “West Wing” that constantly are running to the NYTimes?

Why are so many jumping to believe this but instantly discount other stories from anonymous sources?

I get we are not happy with the progress of the DOJ on certain things but jumping at every “leak”, jeez.

"Stumbled" on to the problem, my foot. As I pointed out in another post, I think both Sessions AND Trump don't understand the proper relationship of a president and his AG.

“I will admit I do admire......one thing about the Obama administration - his DOJ people were committed to his cause, and worked towards achieving his vision.”....

Did you vote for odumbo and his ilk too? I DO NOT admire anyone who purposely devoted their time to destroying this country, I despise them!
