“It’s been wetter and cooler in Western NY this year, “

Very hot here in the Cleveland/Akron area!

As 'unwarming' seems to happen where Algore goes, had he a speaking engagement this week in Москва?

You don’t have to go to Moscow. It’s cooler than usual in CO. Wetter too.

Ditto in western PA. We are 10 degrees (avg) off of normal. Also running 1+" of rain a week. The beginning of solar minimum.

Two thinks:

Napoleon: “Damned you Moscow”.

Putin, aka Jason Alexander as George Castanza in “Seinfeld” - “Infrastructure. I blame it on infrastructure”.

(For those who don’t remember, it was “Shrinkage. I blame it on shrinkage”.

Back in the 1940s, it snowed in Rochester, NY in June.

Also had a day where it topped 90 in January in the early 1970s.

Weather anomalies happen.

It’s not just the “middle of summer”, the article is dated 21 July. 21 Jul is on average, the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE.

Up in the Chugach Mountains around Valdez the tops get a dusting ‘round about labor day. That’s only 6 weeks away.

Translated title of and original Russian story via google translate:

The capital of the Russian Federation was hit by rain, snow and hail

The department did not exclude the collapse of trees, damage to power transmission lines, damage to the roofs of houses and unstable structures.

The department asked citizens and guests of the capital to be cautious: if possible, wait out the bad weather in the room, and out on the street, bypass marketing boards and shaky structures. Car lovers are advised not to park cars under trees and billboards.

Another 10% of the July precipitation rate fell in some parts of the capital at the end of the working week in the afternoon, July 21. Atmospheric pressure is normal, 746 mm Hg. Art.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac nailed the weather in this area perfectly this year. It’s usually close but this has been week for week dead on for months now.
