And the bizarre thing is that when the ‘coal to Newcastle’ phrase was coined, if I remember correctly, it was actually the RIGHT business decision because the guy who did it just so happened to ship the coal in the middle of a miner’s strike.

Ok, we fought a revolution to stop British mercantilism which worked and as a result of the successful war, the USA built up it's industrial base and became wealthy as a nation.
Now we are shipping food and raw materials to China who then turn around and ship finished goods to the US duty free! They OTH tax our exports to them.
WHAT.THE.HELL?
