Supposedly. More like one step out of 50 fixes.

I would suggest that European Medicines Agency approved generics also be allowed to be sold in the USA.

This is their biosimilar approvals:

And thereby take ownership of it’s failure.

Such political ineptitude is mind boggling.

...if it wasn't all planned...

Obamacare is a trainwreck and attempts to patch it up are only a bigger pile up.

get with the program. they’re going to blame us anyway. we may as well hack as much of the monster off as we can.

and if you’re going to call someone a fool, it’s a good idea to not be foolish yourself.

get with the program

Get with what program?

I didn't promise to repeal Obamacare and send 60 repeal votes to the Senate, the Republicans did. And now they're caving.

they’re going to blame us anyway.

No Republicans voted for Obamacare.

How are they going to get the blame? we may as well hack as much of the monster off as we can.

The "monster" is not going to get hacked off. In fact, it's going to grow into something worse: Single-payer. It is a bailout for the insurance companies, more subsidies, and tinkering of Obamacare.

Obamacare MUST be fully repealed, or we will have single-payer. I don't even support Cruz's plan, because Obamacare is still in place and a future Dem Congress will just kill Cruz's amendment and usher in single-payer.

These drugs, currently often at $25,000 to $400,000/year per patient, have to be paid for.

You don't think the free market, with holistic/natural medicines being allowed to compete, would bring down the price of these drugs?

Let’s simplify things.

Take your pick:

1) government involvement in healthcare and the mess we have now.

2) no government involvement in healthcare and none of the mess we have now

Rand is with the program - Ryan and McConnell and the rest of the RINOs are the ones that need to get with the program and do the repeal as was promised over the years....

My pick is none of the above. Granting patents to protect intellectual property rights does not imply anything other than the useful right to award patents. The Federal Government was not set up to define for itself whatever powers might make overreaching bureaucrats happy.

Meddling with civilian health care is not authorized. The notion that because someone or some company has made a valuable new discovery does not somehow authorize a redistribution of wealth scheme, with respect to the benefits from that discovery.

To understand how clearly such notion was unacceptable to the Founders, one need look no further in the Constitution than Article I, Sec. 9, where any redistributive tax on individuals is interdicted--the very reason the Sixteenth Amendment was deemed necessary in the early Twentieth Century to authorize an income tax.

Now, aside from the illegality involved, one should point out that the thing driving those $25,000+ price tags for drugs is the Gross level of unconstitutional Federal involvement in funding civilian health care. If someone patents a method to keep people's brains alive in jars indefinitely--as in some old horror movies--will we allow the Feds to offer to provide the "service" to those who demand it, at public expense?

Now I recognize that there is a legitimate need to address the inability of some to afford even traditional levels of health care. As pointed out in Tactics For Victory, the medical profession used to take care of that under their honorable code of conduct.

One also should be familiar with how a welfare system safety net, actually worked in Jefferson's day: Jefferson On Welfare. The urban legend that social problems require the intervention of far off Governments, needs to be strenuously refuted. As Reagan suggested, more often than not, the bureaucracy is the real problem.
