Nevada state officials declared a state of emergency after stores that sell recreational marijuana reported that their supply is running out just less than two weeks after the drug went on sale legally.
Gov. Brian Sandoval, R-Nev., issued the state of emergency on Friday, which will allow state officials to decide on new rules that could ease the shortage of marijuana, according to Fox 13 Now.
Nevada’s Department of Taxation released a statement that said it will contemplate emergency regulations that would permit liquor wholesalers to cash in on the marijuana sales.
“Based on reports of adult-use marijuana sales already far exceeding the industry’s expectations at the state’s 47 licensed retail marijuana stores and the reality that many stores are running out of inventory, the Department must address the lack of distributors immediately,” the Department of Taxation said in a statement. “Some establishments report the need for delivery within the next several days.”

I visited Las Vegas once with an employer several years ago, and I was underwhelmed. Artificiality was the only theme I noticed, as well as everything sexual and debauched. I’m commenting on the strip, mind you, but it was really weird seeing slot machines at the airport.
The hotel room I stayed in was a revamped condo in a high rise. I caught some wicked flu bug there that took over a week to recover from. Many of us did.

You could take a cocaine or meth addict and say something bad about those substances to them, and it's no problem. But, if you dare say anything less than glowing about marijuana, they freak out and you are worse than a child molester.

Then there is the prospect of trying to play poker or blackjack with degraded short-term memory. And nice ladies bringing you "free" drinks. Casino owners have just tripped over a chest filled with gold doubloons and they know it.

Almost no coin machines left anymore. (Well, I did see ONE, in Virginia City, but it was special... It would take two quarters for a chance to win a Colt Peacemaker, or a “free” drink..)
They now all have bill readers, and pay you off with a printed ticket.
But hey, they simulate the sound of coins, if you win!

I’m probably younger than you. And yes, Freepers and non-Freepers alike have told me several variations on this. According to the, marijuana is not addictive and has never had a single case of negative repercussions.

I can’t recall off-hand which state it was but I seem to remember Oregon or perhaps Washington state ran out of product in a similar fashion.
I figure it will be another 6 months before there is enough flower in the distribution line to prevent running out again.
I’m happy for the folks in Nevada who can now enjoy cannabis recreationally & legally. Hopefully more states will follow.
