Hardball might be vetoing any bill that provides infrastructure money in any state whose Senator voted no. Trump might refuse to declare disasters in refusnik Senatorial states.

True, but those are traditional softball tactics.

what is better, is to go right to the people of the Trump states and articulate a message that their refusnik senator is stopping his pro American agenda. Then support a pro American primary opponent.

Exactly what should have been done months ago.

Kill Obamacare now and replace it later

YES!!!!

Next step: get the government completely out of healthcare so it can thrive as before in the free market economy.

Please tell me that label is photo-shopped!

The worst thing is it is not only labeled “boneless pork rectums”, but they’ve been “inverted”. I’m not sure I want to know what that involves.

Exactly. Or don’t replace it. Just tweak teh system we had pre-0bamacare.

Just promise a replacement down the road and follow through like they did on Simpson Mazzoli with the border closing promise.

From a VDH piece

Third, the recent history of immigration legislation is one not of the rule of law, but more of popular pressure and politics. The Simpson-Mazzoli compromise bill (the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986) was predicated on the bargain that in exchange for blanket amnesty for 3 million illegal immigrants, liberals would honor their half of the bargain by following through with closing the border. Instead, illegal immigration soared, as word got out that the amnesty was accompanied by a de facto open border. In 2006, President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act, whose professed intent was the completion of the border fence, but which was almost immediately encumbered with a number of waivers that postponed any action.

Can Obamacare be repealed by reconciliation? Does it require 60 votes in Senate?

No tweaking. Repeal then start repealing all the other federal interventions a in Medicine and Insurance up to and including Medicare (I am on Medicare and have had no complaints about my experiences with it) and Medicaid. Return it all to the Market.

Remove the D from FDA and go back to the only Constitution sanctioned oversight i.e. guaranteeing weights and measures, which could include truth in labeling. The poor people who cannot afford medicine now would find a lot more within their reach in a market system and real Religion based charities and others would take on the rest. Insurance would become mostly Catastrophic Coverage (actually insurance) for those instances that would suddenly be out of reach financially for people and would be much less expensive than the medical pre-pay plans we misnominally call insurance were 20 years ago.

Illegal aliens would simply find themselves out of luck in the emergency rooms without cash money and it would help to dissuade them from staying here or coming in the first place. One thing that would remain expensive would be ambulance service. Drug habitués would decrease as they would not automatically be fetched to the hospital every time they OD. Somebody would have to pay for the ambulance.

kill Obamacare now and replace it later

kill Obamacare now and promise to replace it later, then nitpick and haggle until it gets put off enough times it becomes moot.

I was waiting for DJT to come to that. He knows that essentially renaming Obamacare to Trumpcare is not going to be good for him, conservatives, or republicans. I think he has been counting on the replacers keeping it tied up in knots so that replace obviously can’t happen. So, yeah, REPEAL then argue about replace and make sure it doesn’t happen. Repeal now then we can work on repealing the other government miscontrols on medicine and insurance.

As long as there's any gubmint health care plan in place - a single payer system, i.e. socialized medicine, is just thiiiiiis far away.
Kill Obamacare now and let us return to a privatized system.

“Exactly. Or don’t replace it. Just tweak the system we had pre-0bamacare.”

What, you mean the system that was the envy of the world? Why would we want that, when we could have a bleak, inadequate, downright lethal system of socialized medicine like Cuba or Japan?

It drives me crazy that so many otherwise sane people have accepted the lying leftard narrative that our healthcare system was “in crisis” before Obunghole came along and saved us.
