Fantastic how those not seeking free stuff are routinely penalized for those who do.

Yes. It is the court that decides. It is the law.

I shouldn’t have to pay $1,000 for an MRI yet my brother’s health insurer gets charged $100 for the same MRI.

Why not? It's a fact of business that customers who buy in volume generally pay less than customer buying for just one. The whole wholesale vs. retail thing. If an insurance company can negotiate a lower rate than what you pay, be it health care or cars or whatever, then where is that wrong? Why should everyone pay $1000 if they don't have to?

10 times is unreasonable and illegal. 10-40% more is reasonable.

Your opinion. I'm sure the insurance company and the medical provider would disagree. And since their ability to negotiate rates keeps my insurance costs low then I'll side with them.

The Republicans are just as sorry as the Democrats. They could care less if John Doe doesn’t have enough money to eat as long he has enough to pay for a worthless health care policy.

Unfortunate, but humans will continue to be humans. It has to be factored in.
