My favorite town in the whole country was once Golden Meadow. I hung around GM for almost a month in 84 while the Destin snapper boat I was on was laid up south of there due to inclement weather. I made a pretty good amount of money shuffling shrimp boxes for Cheramies, a lot more than I shared up on that boat. That’s what you get, though, for going fishing on the Gulf in October.
