When I have walked down at the lake where it is a peaceful respite after school there is an oval about 9/10ths of a mile where people camp & a little park inside the oval w/ bathrooms showers. Right across the road is a covered picnic tables area & there is a little playground.

Several times I have see a male parent park, let their child out to play while they remain in the car blaring rap. I feel so sorry for the child.

That is a very poignant song. John Fogarty said it expresses his hurt over his father divorcing his mother and leaving the family.

Having been a young teenager when my parents divorced, I can sympathize with Fogarty. There are emotions and hurts that remain from that experience that I'll never communicate with anyone. Some scars never completely heal.
