House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is facing doubts about her leadership of the House Democrats following the stinging defeat of Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District special election on Tuesday by Republican Karen Handel.
Criticism came from House Democrats as well as pop star and film icon Cher who tweeted, “CONGRESSIONAL RACE IS NOT OLYMPICS,THERES NO MEDALFOR 2nd PLACE‼️I ADMIRE & RESPECT NANCY PELOSI,BUT IN“EVERY”RACE,GOP RUNS AGAINST HER”
Politico reported in an article headlined "Pelosi faces growing doubts among Dems after Georgia loss":
“I think you’d have to be an idiot to think we could win the House with Pelosi at the top,” said Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas)

Cher was NOT a film icon. Cher was a POP icon — decent singer, decent actress, mostly a madonna prototype of self-promotion.

Some truth in what she says but ossoff not living in district was a key issue and that’s on the GA dem party as much or more than anyone else.
Whatever. The Dems can dump Pelosi as their leader in the House, but it won’t improve their electoral chances. They’ll predictably try and go to the “center”, but that won’t work. The centrist voters they need, i.e. white working class/blue collar workers, are abandoning that party in droves. All the Dems are left with are the leftist drippings of minority voters, millennials, the LGBT crowd and an assortment of activist, fringe groups. That coalition will win in NY, CA, and both coasts, but forget about the rest of the country.

Cher was underrated as an actress.
I was at a U2 concert a couple of nights ago and Bono was talking g about what a wonderful woman Pelosi was. It was disgusting and he even had a picture of Hillary on his video backdrop. A fun concert, but when he stopped playing music it got unbearable.
Pelosi is a sympathetic figure, I think people feel sorry for her and not angry with her. As usual the Dems misread reality.

That’s an unusual case of the GOP doing something smart. Pelosi is universally despised outside of her district, and Rat congresscritters do vote as she commands.

That would be smart, but completely in the opposite direction they have been and are now heading.
I say they should go with Mad Maxine Waters. Now that would show the Reublicans that they mean business.
Really hope they stop thinking this way soon. We need Pelosi leading the Dems til she drowns in her own drool.
