There, fixed it.
Is this guy complaining that Scalise didn’t die and the “Resist” Democrat should have used and AR-15 instead?
Don’t want to go to that site.
Here is a new one.
Fort Scott Munitions

Copper cnc milled bullet therefore one of the most accurate
Also, designed to tumble upon impact; does not expand, but tumbles.
Didn’t read the article but the projectile probably fragmented into multiple pieces after striking any of the major bones of the hip, which then tumbled around inside him (as there was no reported exit wound).
lol!.....................
Can’t blame you, that’s why I bit the bullet (so to speak) and did it for you. ;-)
“Also, designed to tumble upon impact; does not expand, but tumbles.”
Actually, the fact that the .223/5.56mm bullet tumbles isn’t so much a function of the design of the projectile itself, as it is the fact that the bullet is only marginally stable in flight. The twist of the rifling in the barrel doesn’t spin the bullet very much so it lacks inherent stability from spin. So when it hits anything it is immediately unstable which causes it to start tumbling. Shoot an AR at a target that offers more resistance than just paper, or put something substantial in it’s way and you will see for yourself.
Would they have preferred them to be shot with a .22-250 (4000 fps) or maybe a .250-3000 bolt action?
No 7.62 x 39 ever, not once, saw 2600fps.
They top out at about 2100fps at the muzzle, for light rounds.
Scalise probably survived because a 7.62x39 was used.
Had a 5.56 or 5.45 been used at that range the wound channel would’ve been huge.
I don’t know why folks still believe “bigger is better”. There are 9mm rounds out there now that impact harder and with more velocity than .357 magnum rounds.
The spin is fine, which is why AR-15s are among the most accurate semiautos. But most FMJ are tail-heavy and will turn around when the media changes.
Several gun rags have chrono’d PRVI 7.62x39 at 2500+.
I’ve never shot it personally.
With all the ballistics debates between knowledgeable shooters and relaoders that would make the casual gun enthusiast’s head spin, there’s no point expecting anything of worth from some gun-grabbing lefty. Although, I’m sure his counterfeit ballistics knowledge impresses his hoplophobic readers.
A few years ago a military war physician reported on a deep analysis of the wounds from the AR’s 5.56 and the AK’s 7.62, conclusively showing that the 5.56 wounds were generally far worse than those of the 7.62x39.....the 5.56 tumbled, while the 7.62, with far less velocity, would go straight through soft tissue.
However all bets were off when either hit bone. Tumbling and shattering from that point on with either was usually deadly if in torso.......
I think the article was posted here on FR......
The SKS barrel length is 20” and the specified muzzle velocity is on the order of 2400fps.

Still not the 2600fps that the author would attribute to it, but a little better than the 2300fps that is typically attributed to the AK47’s 16.25” barrel.
I saw a chart showing PMC 37 grianers at 3700fps
I’d like to know what 9mm has more energy or velocity than .357 so I can by a few hundred.
But I don’t think they exist.
