Living in Illinois Teaches People to Hate Government

Illinois is the reason people hate government.

The state is in the middle of a terrible financial crisis and two political titans are battling over bragging rights to the political carnage.

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner, who is likely to spend more than $100 million on his political campaign if he runs for re-election next year, claims to be on the side of reform.

Rauner wants to freeze property taxes, cut worker’s compensation and undermine collective bargaining rights. He would also like term limits for state officials and reduce the gerrymandering of legislative districts.

On the other side there is Michael Madigan, chairman of the state Democratic Party and speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives.

Madigan has been a legislative leader for more than 30 years, the longest serving legislative leader in the history of the Unite States, and therefore has had a hand in everything that is wrong with this state.

Madigan has not proposed any budget plans for over a year.

He is to Illinois what William Bulger was to Massachusetts.

At least it’s cheaper to register a car in Illinois than it is in Kansas.

As an Illinois citizen (unfortunately) i can attest

While private sector employees have been told increasingly to fund their retirements. Illinois politicans for years have insisted that governemnt employees have their retirments fully funded. Now these pensions are bankrupting the state.

It should be interesting to see what happens. they have been borrowing money to keep themselves afloat. Soon they won’t be able to, as their bond rating is barely above junk bond rating.

Liberals ruin EVERYTHING they get control of.

One of those is not like the other... but of course they are being held up as equivalent.

Because the criminals/politicians have convinced the voters that they can deliver something for nothing. Oldest scam since the dawn of mankind.

Kissed that upholstered toilet goodbye on June 1st and took my six figure salary and my daughter with me. That place needs to be dry cleaned and then burned. I will enjoy the hell out of watching it collapse!!

It teaches decent people to hate the government.

It teaches the scumbags to treat the government like a hungry infant treats it’s mommy’s breast.

[The problem is Chicago]

The problem? Look at the abominable laws that have been signed into law the last few years. GOD will not be mocked. ILLINOIS is a cursed state, and ONLY solution for it is 2 CHRONICLES 7:14.

Southern Illinois is filled with decent people who are trapped and can’t leave, or won’t leave because of elderly family members. Be merciful, have some sympathy.

<>The problem is Chicago<>

Yep, and Chicago became the problem due to the 1964 Scotus decision, Reynolds v. Sims.

Progressing the Constitution: One Man, One Vote.

Progressing the Constitution: One Man, One Vote II.

For the majority, Chief Justice Earl Warren wrote, “A prime reason for bicameralism, modernly considered, is to insure mature and deliberate consideration of, and to prevent precipitate action on, proposed legislative measures. Simply because the controlling criterion for apportioning representation is required to be the same in both houses does not mean that there will be no differences in the composition and complexion of the two bodies.” Warren substituted his theory of political science for those expressed in fifty state constitutions backed up by three hundred years of experience. This is the Utopian Left. This is tyranny.

Illinoisans rarely have an opportunity to choose their elected officials.

The state is gerrymandered to favor the Democrats and in many districts the incumbents run unopposed.
