I agree with you. This is quite a sinister story. And I am disgusted that despite numerous witnesses to his assaults on the other foster girl, charges were “dropped.”

At this juncture a better question, seems to me, was who was this asshole’s alibi at the time she committed “suicide”.
I wonder whether anyone saw the poor girl light herself or, as the article implies, she was found dead in her burned car. Burning a body that way might cover up something else.

I refuse to read into this more than is there. If we have to resort to this type of maligning as a prop to our arguments about such people, our arguments are kind of weak.
Foster kids this old bring into a home all kinds of baggage - often horrible baggage. Knowing a girl this old was without parents to begin with is enough pressure to put many compromised personalities over the edge.
