Propane refrigerators are incredibly common in campers and RVs for many decades. My grandfather’s camper had one and that was at least 40 years ago.
Maybe retaliation for terrorism. A building full of potential jihadis - someone really PO'ed over Manchester and London over the last couple of weeks took the liberty of getting even.

This is just absurd...considering the shape of the building. It’s like a loop ‘mantra’ that they’ve been asked to repeat.
I confess I do not know what gas it is except that it is flammable and didn’t sound like a good idea to me. A lot of those gasses can be heavier than air so they don’t dissipate and instead settle in pockets.
Still, not sure what gas it is except that it is flammable and the answer to the high cost of other environmentally friendly ozone saving refrigerants.
Propane is the fuel, not the refrigerant. They run on gas basically, rather than electricity. I doubt that's what is happening here.

Propane powered refrigerators are still common. They don’t use propane as the refrigerant, though.
